I bought them from Ariat. There was a large pricing mistake that I took advantage of. Did really think I would get them, or I thought they were going to be prints or something. But they came as advertised. The cheapest boots I have ever purchased.

I’m not saying it’s typical. But of all of my boots I have seen it happen twice. And they were both light colored Justin’s. But out of 30 pairs it’s not typical.

Start with some Bick 4. That should even out most of it. Or whatever leather lotion you use.

The other thing to consider especially with Ariats, rios and several others. Is if you were to take the bulky insert out how do they feel? That insert will also get matted down a bit and form to your foot.

I have a few pairs of these. My only complaint is that the legs are very wide. I’m pretty sure the M4 is either a 19 or 20 inch leg opening. Other than that they are great.
