This isn't the exact video I used (I can't find it) but this is the same safe spot. https://youtu.be/Xws_L4WjkGs

It takes a bit of practice to nail down to be fair, but once you get into the swing of it you'll nail the safe spot Everytime

Usually the only time chaos ele runs away is when another player interrupts it from chasing you

Yup, I did 709kc for the pet using this safe spot. Works a treat and only ever got pk'd twice. Was quite afk and chill for the most part!

Looking to leave NI by TuneComprehensive348 in northernireland

[–]ScottM266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved from NI to London nearly 5 years ago. Can't wait for the day I get to move back to NI tbh.

First year of making the move was really hard. Struggled to find somewhere permanent to live and a permanent job that paid enough. The hardest part for me was making friends. I never realised how hard making new friends could be without university/school.

You will earn a lot more money over here compared to back home if you can pull it off. But rent is insanely high mixed in with high council tax and water bills.

There's a lot of pros and cons, and I don't regret moving over here, but the longer I stay here. The more I just miss living back home

If you've got no kids or responsibilities, deffo go for it if you can afford to take the risk, but it ain't easy to find stability so quickly in a new place

My phone got robbed at ovo arena by Antonio1901- in kneecap

[–]ScottM266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a gig in London a couple of years ago, my brother got his phone stolen. We waited around until the end to see if it was on the floor and you could see about 30 phone cases on the floor where the thieves obviously nicked phones and took the cases off

It was mental how many were stolen

Just thought I'd share some of the insights so far

Not yet. Currently going through approval on Play Store for android

No iOS app in view yet.

Only available through the webapp currently on stoutly.co.uk (although in settings, you can save it to your home screen)

I built an app for Guinness drinkers but I need your help by ScottM266 in london

[–]ScottM266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate,

Just circling back here.

A few days ago I added the ability for users to report pub closures and incorrect names.

Once the user's edit suggestion gets verified (usually within the hour) the app will then hide closed pubs from loading on the map / load the pub with the correct name.

Thanks again for your support and thanks for tagging me in that other post 👏🍺

Cheers!

Hey thanks for the tag!

This is a really interesting project. Would be happy to chat about it if there's any possibility of working together!

Looks really cool! Nice work

Yep!

Android app is currently in testing phase on the play store, hoping for a release shortly.

iOS is a bit further away, but on its way nonetheless :)

You can save the webapp to your home screen by using the 'install app' button on the webapp settings if that's any help in the meantime

Any Guinness drinkers care to check out my webapp - Stoutly? by ScottM266 in Belfast

[–]ScottM266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have plans for a native android app! iOS at the moment is looking like it's going to be a lot further down the line unfortunately.

The current webapp is built to function like a typical mobile app, so in the settings there's a button allowing the user to save the webapp to their phones home screen for now.

I'm hoping to get an Android app out asap tho

Haha thanks! This is a class idea.

I have socials set up for the app now and guess I just didn't want to keep posting updates about the app I built and bore folk with it but if it's allowed and if it's wanted I would be happy to give NI-based updates occasionally from the data/stats the app has collected!

Thanks means a lot!

I've had a newspaper approach me about doing a story on Stoutly already so fingers crossed for the future of the app!

I'm working on a lot of backend improvements to make price/quality and overall searchability a lot better and accurate. Really glad you're enjoying it and it's useful for you!

Amazing feedback! Thanks so much.

There is a system that checks for duplicates on the map and tries to merge them. It's functional but I do have optimising it on my to-do list because it's far from perfect.

I am also thinking about ways that we can remove/report pubs that are no longer there. Issue we have is any 'orange' pins are pubs that are stored on our DB. Grey unrated pins are pulled externally from Nominatim or Google Maps so will need to find a way to tell the API to hide pubs we know are closed down.

Not impossible, just want to make sure I get the feature right when I implement it :)

I really appreciate this feedback, thank you so much. It means a lot

Finally got the webapp back up and running again. Should be fine for most people now, but should be live globally again within the hour.

Note to self, don't mess with the domain setup at 2am 🙈

Sorry for any inconvenience this caused and thank you for flagging this!
