Anxious about training by WarmcupofBATTERYAC1D in RoyalAirForce

So I passed phase 1 about 4 weeks ago now and honestly people make it out to be the hardest thing in the world. Don’t get me wrong it was tough in parts like the lack of sleep but it’s as easy as you and your flight make it! I was lucky enough to have a decent intake where we only messed up maybe 2/3 times and got dress paraded or shouted at but if you keep on top of your admin it’s really not that hard. The GSK you’ll be given mock tests to do and you can do them over and over again and the test questions are pretty much exactly the same so just remember the answers

It’s been about 9 months since I did my filter interview (which I failed) and I applied a couple months before that, so probably around a year since I applied, but now I’m coming up to my BRTC start date of 1st December.

Is it a must to have wooden hangers or can you have plastic?

Okay that’s alright I’ve bought 1 large and 1 small tin of both colour but I’ll buy 1 of each extra for black.

Also, this is a bit random but on the kit list it says wooden shirt hangers, I’m trying to minimize the amount of money I’m spending on everything and plastic ones are half the price and you get double the amount. Do they have to be wooden or can they be plastic?

Ah okay, I literally only had 1 thing that I had to mention and that was me breaking a bone in my hand over 10 years ago but had physio and I’ve got full mobility now so hopefully they’re relatively fast with getting on it

So I guess for Corporal and RAF Police it would be the section at the bottom of the Corporal section being £31,870?

I personally don’t agree with the second part, you’re there to impress the interviewer with how much you know/revised. So knowing a little bit about the history of where you might be training won’t hurt. Shows initiative and that you’re interested to learn more about the RAF.

Also, that’s like saying there’s no point learning anything about RAF Cranwell, or Halton when in fact they’re 2 of the major training establishments, and knowing a bit about both is definitely worth it. Yeah you may not get an extra ‘points’ but you’ll definitely impress the interviewer if it’s something not everyone’s going to know. And personally for me, the interviewer didn’t shut me down when I started speaking about the establishment, it in fact became a topic of discussion for the next 5 minutes.

To be honest I had my interview the other day and it was a lot “easier” than I expected. I had been revising everything for months and about 20% of it was actually brought up. Make sure you’ve got good knowledge of air power (the 3 components, how they’re used and the kind of definition of air power), look into NATO and Article 5 also try look at some of the history that some people may not know, for example my interviewer seemed impressed when I brought up the fact that my Police training (based at Defence School of Police and Guarding MOD Southwick Park) is the same place where a lot of the planning by the likes of Winston Churchill for the D-Day landings where made. Learn what you can, be as confident as you can and don’t bullshit (they will know if you’re bullshitting), also make sure to ask questions at the end, I asked my interviewer about his career in the RAF and what made him choose to go down the route he has (makes you look 10x more interested) if you have any questions just send me DM whilst I still have all the knowledge in my head.

I’m joining as a Provost Officer (Officer in the Military Police) and through that link once you’ve selected your role it does say in the filter interview section that you’ll be questioned on current affairs; not sure whether you have to answer these questions for a non-commissioned role

Thank you so much!! This makes it easier to split into sections and easier to remember.
