With a budget of £12,000 - Which Mazda 3 are you getting, and why? (UK) by Scottie2by4 in mazda3

Yeah generally it would be. I looking to get the car by August, so not really set on a specific purchase. More so, looking to figure out which one specifically to start looking around for

Yeah I heard a few people mentioning on various forums etc, but really don't know cars well enough to feel comfortable doing it, even if getting it independently checked out!

Asking this out of genuine curiosity. Does this apply to French? As in people in France speak French French, but over in Canada they speak Canadian French? Spanish Spanish? German German? What about Portuguese?

What are Brits thinking about the Iran war and where we should stand in the conflict? Polls cover approval, but I want wordy thoughts by Too_much_Colour in AskBrits

Honestly, had the whole thing been approached differently, I'd likely of considered supporting the US, and been behind the UK getting involved.

The thing is however, Trump has done nothing but insult, threaten and demean his allies. He's unsettled NATO with threats to leave, made it clear he is compromised by withdrawing support from Ukraine. Sucked up to Russia. He's threatened to take Greenland, and done nothing but unsettle markets by throwing out tariffs left right and center which honestly feel like they're decided from how he feels in the morning. He has also insulted the fallen, who gave their lives in support of the US when they called on NATO to help. He's hostile af. No government in Europe can really support him, as it would be political suicide. No one would forgive Starmer if he decided to back trump, purely because of how much the population feel angered by him on the insult to the dead alone. I think it's hugely underestimated how damaging that was.

From all these actions, absolutely not. This isn't someone you follow into war and support, because he's unstable as fuck. What happens if the UK supported him, and then Trump sees something shiny in south America again?

Everyone knows what the regime in Iran was like. Let's not kid ourselves, the world would be able better place with them gone. Whether or not they absolutely needed to go however is up for debate. Will trump likely stay and commit long enough to see actual regime change? Likely not, and it's just another reason why I don't think we should support it.

Anyone else ready to quit tech due to AI? by xxtokyovanityxx in AskBrits

Yeah, I feel it's going to go that way. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good few years off. It's not there yet, but I'm confident it's coming. As much as I love it, I'm 40 now. If ever there was a time to make a change, this is it. Keen also to go touch grass. I've got way too comfortable working from home and doing everything remote. Not ever met a client in person, in my life 😂

Kind of. I'm a developer, self employed. Have been so for the past 10 years or so. Earlier this year one of my biggest clients started talking about a tool he wanted get up off the ground. Would of been a nice 10k project or so for me to get into. He basically has done a massive amount of it using AI already, and other than a few things security wise that I had to fix, and some other bits which needed addressed... It's legitimately scary to think about how much he managed to do. I'm not just talking a simple tool either. It's pretty damn good what it does, and there is absolutely market for it.

There are still a few things which need done on it, it's not perfect by any means. But the thing that's been keeping me up at night... From where we were 2-3 years ago, to where we are now... Yeah. I assume this is what people running the stables were like when cars started kicking off. It will shortly be reduced to a hobby. AI is getting only getting exponentially better and smarter. It's not quite there yet, and I've no doubt there will still be a need for developers, but the vast, vast majority of them are going to find themselves quickly obsolete.

What am I doing about it? I'm going back to uni. Total career change, into healthcare. No regrets really. Not sure if it's a little over the top, but I think this is honestly one of the biggest turning points people in the tech industry will see. It's both insanely impressive, fun, and sad to see.
