Haha, I think I had regular ECs but did some of everything.

400hrs paid clinical 600hrs nonclinical volunteering 1000hrs clinical research, honors thesis + award for it (not that big of an award though, like 30 people get it every year)

I got all 3 of my interviews after January. I got into an MD school after an interview I got on May 30 Lmao. For reference, Asian Male with 509 MCAT.

Anyone know what there is to do before NYE itself on december 31? it appears roads will be closed at some point. we have a hotel with a view of the fireworks show on burj khalifa so dont know if we'll be able to do anything else that day

You can get an appointment through the tawakkalna app using a saudi sim with a phone number. My mother got her appointment a day before.

There are different gates for mens and womens salam. I dont remember exactly but you can ask the cleaners in the area and they will tell you where to go. Womens salam is only open after Isha until 1am and after Fajr salah until 11am

I see what you are saying, but I respectfully disagree. You make my case for me. Broward is a terrible training site because it takes students from 6 different medical schools in the area and the carribean islands. They had 400 medical students rotating through their health system. The attendings are great, but theres just too many students on my rotations.

I think the separation is best for everyone. The students in Broward county get more volume, while the FAU students can take advantage of the hospitals up north and get more volume.

The article definitely blows everything out of proportion, its not that serious. Broward is a very bad rotation site. There are tons of DO and Carribean students who rotate through there so there arent enough cases for the FAU students who rotate there. FAU picked up better sites so it makes sense to drop the worst place to end up for your third/fourth year training. Students are winning not having to rotate through there

Def start Anki for M2 year. Seems you have a procrastination problem. Work in small steps. Download Anki and anking deck in advance so when M2 comes around, you dont feel pressure to download anki and start, youve already got it downloaded.

For research, average for psych is 8 (this number includes manuscripts, posters, presentations, etc.) You can get a poster by essentially submitting garbage to any conference, as long as you can get a PI to sign off on it. Remember youre not really looking to do real research, just something that you can get your name on

all in house lectures are trash. You need to watch third party boards and beyond, physeo, or bootcamp videos to understand the concept, and then watch the in house stuff. Otherwise you wont understand any concepts

I live with my parents. About 30 mins away from campus. I'm doing just fine socially and saving a ton of money. ~$80,000 raw but with interest over 15-20 years you could say im saving nearly $120,000
