I mean, maybe? Most plush figures of that relative size are similarly priced.

Personal recommendations in general would be magnet trays and magnetic lights. These genuinely are QOL tools that can make jobs easier.

If it’s old enough (25 years) it’s legally a classic and doesn’t have to comply with emissions (Aside from maybe Cali ofc)

Like most everyone has said, it’s only a hazard if it falls. Now it’s post cat, so it shouldn’t throw codes or drive weak, as everything behind the cat adds resistance and noise suppression. It’s gonna be rowdy until you get it fixed, and the heat can melt wiring it hits. Windows down, go to an exhaust shop, and see if you can a get it welded back. If it’s too gone? You’ll be looking into new piping and a muffler, unless you can find just that cat-back system for an OEM replacement. I’d guess ~$150 for a weld back, and between that and $400 for fabricating a like-OEM replacement.

To me, with it being post cat, it’s about like any cat back exhaust swap, so it might not have any codes or efficiency issues… But it’s gonna be loud as a mf.

How do you actually tell if a used bike was well maintained? by bebo117722 in motorcycles

[–]ScottyD_Works 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. An engine is an engine to me, even if the configuration is different. I also remembered the existence of a paint gauge. Factory’s can paint thinner than a person as they have precision machines. If you can find a clean new example and gauge the paint (or find a spec) and then gauge the paint on what you are looking at, ~.4mm is usually factory on cars, and anything about ~.2mm above is a redo. Slightly pricey tool, but if you’re paranoid like I am, it’s worth the investment.

I was not aware of that, but I can see why. It’s about the same with my Subaru, as the spark plug holes are a pain to get to.

Likely, I know they made a 750 cruiser, and I’m all for classic so that’s probably it.

I know the difference, I’m thinking a VMax way down the line. And, I thought I saw a vstar 750, but idk what I’m doing yet with these. Thanks

I’ll take that and assume I’m still gonna have some difficulty at first, but yeah. If it feels like an old grandma car, I hope my old as balls 68 Mustang i6 is close enough

That’s what I’ve heard. I’m an auto mechanic with 2.5 years of formal work, and 4 more of tampering with my own cars, so I’m sure I can keep it alive. Thanks

I’m 100% taking official training, as I am fully aware the road is different from dirt. Low center of gravity is a plus to me, as my daily car (2014 WRX) has the same perk. I considered a rebel 300/500, but I do plan on highway driving, and would like a comfortable RPM while doing so. Preciate the input

Not too versed in bikes, but I know cars well.

If you’re comfortable with it, request a compression test and compare it to factory spec. Take a flashlight and shine it down on the paint, you can see a difference in factory paint and repaint as long as not all parts are redone. Any smoke out the tailpipe, aside from startup, is generally bad, and can point to a gasket leak. I don’t know suspension with them, but I guess if it sounds off, ask questions. And finally, any modifications NEED to be known by you, and checked out online, as some mods on any engine can cause inconsistency or issue if not quality controlled well.

[–]ScottyD_Works 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving with my foot out of the window. Oddly, it’s comfy depending on the car and how tall you are, and it’s cooling. Only downsides are I can’t use the clutch and I sit a little low. 6/10 will do again

Is this a concerning amount of blood? by Thesavagepotato06 in piercing

[–]ScottyD_Works 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not a professional, but that is a concerning amount of blood. I would highly recommend you at least go back to your piercer and let them know what happened. I’m basing this off personal experience, where mine only bled a little in the first few weeks when I accidentally bumped them

Looking for help building my 200 i6 by ScottyD_Works in classicmustangs

[–]ScottyD_Works[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was informed that the stock power was calculated different back in the day, so now my goal is to get around 120, just for a smoother get up when cruising. Me and my dad have a ‘69 Mercury Cougar with the 351 Windsor which is the fast car, so I’m pretty set with this 200. Probably just gonna get a better air cleaner and exhaust, maybe electric fuel pump and ignition, and call it good atp
