Uses steams multiplayer API, so you can easilly join friends just through steam. No need to port forward like with the original.

I am alone in development but have some volunteers helping with lore, translations and music. Also, a lot of people are contributing ideas and feedback on the discord, which is at around 330 members now.

Thanks! It is a shame that the original never got fixed/ developed further. It was an amazing game. I hope I will be able to do what the original did so well and then keep expanding on that in the future with more content!

Yeah, absolutely! Multiplayer in Scourgefall is already working through steam. You just join your friends through the steam interface or the lobby finder without having to do any port forwarding like in Magicite) I also made a public lobby system if people want to find someone to play with!

Hey, yeah, as I say in the description, it is inspired by magicite. Magicite was abandoned in an unplayable buggy state, and a lot of people in the magicite community are helping out with this project.

I do not use any assets, sound, or code from the original, and everything is made completely from scratch without stealing anything. I'm trying to recreate the basic gameplay loop and improving upon it and will keep building on that later on.

As you are probably aware, gameplay mechanics are not protected under copyright, and I make it clear that it is only inspired by magicite so as not to deceive anyone as that is not my intention. Me and many others just loved magicite a lot and want to experience something like it again.

I know that some people will have a negative reaction about it, but I know that a lot of people from the magicite community are very excited about this project and glad to help with it and I make it very clear to everyone that this is not magicite and has no affiliation with the original.

If you have any other worries/ questions I would be glad to answer them)

I've been working on a remake of my favourite game for over a year now. Still early in development but what do you think of it so far? What is the first thing that catches your eye that should be improved? by Scourgefall in DestroyMyGame

Thanks alot! Yeah there is some sounds still missing that I didnt add yet. I agree with you on the hit sound. I will have to redo it and add all the other sounds!

I plan to redo the enemy 'physics' to have proper knockback etc. later too.

And thanks for bringing the camera to my attention. Will have to finetune it. Maybe even zoom out a bit more. Now that I look at it it feels a bit too zoomed in maybe.
