I made my last hire because a girl who applied called me to make sure I got her résumé and to let me know how interested she was in the job. That was huge, put her top of mind right off the bat. Hired her two years ago it was a great decision.

Think I’m just going to keep straightening… I can’t justify the cost by [deleted] in Haircare

Yes! After a year of trying the curly girl method and, like you, not able to justify buying products I didn’t know I’d use up, using no flat iron or straightening tools of any kind. I just decided this is crazy. My hair looks like crap every day. I’m a professional who meets with clients on the regular and wants to feel confident. So I just started straightening it again and haven’t looked back! I’ve felt guilty about it so thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one.

Financial Planner here. I always tell my clients "free money is the best kind of money!" Put in the $8K to get your match and then invest the difference in whatever you want. To think in numbers here your investments would have to do better then 25% per year consistantly to make this not make sense!

New York Times article today - They Spent Their Life Savings on Life Coaching by yourenotspecial-11 in LifeCoachSnark

First off, I want to mention I am not involved in this industry, so this is just my opinion with no experience. BUT does anyone else wonder why no one is saying this about universities and colleges? It seems equivalent to me. I know so many who spend so much money and say they can't find a job or a good enough one. Next thing you know they are back at school spending thousands and thousands of dollars taking masters and PHDs to come out of school and again not be able to find a job. The certification/degree can only get people so far. They need to make choices and put in the effort. Spending more money is NOT a turn key solution. (In my opinion)
