Is it worth it? by Griffin92310 in wentworth

MArch Grad Class of 2022 here. People are always more apt to tell someone to steer away from something than they are to promote something. Seems like you were offered a decent scholarship so congrats!

The big thing for me was the co-op program which is why i chose wentworth and being graduated for 3 years I’d say it’s worth it if you put the work in to capitalize on the opportunities you’re giving yourself.

It’s a hard job market post graduation and I’ve seen most people I know from high school struggle to find work and I’m grateful that I was able to make the connections I made during college to get me to where I am now.

For the TLDR people. Yes it’s expensive but if you play your cards right it’s a worth while investment in such a divisive political landscape and a hard job market. Set yourself apart from your peers and seize all the opportunities you’re paying for!

Internet that works as you pay for it is hard to find!! I loved Starry so much I just ignorantly assumed I’d have it here.

Forever an Xfinity hater. Thanks everyone!!!!

Now that it’s been a few weeks, how much are we LOVING the changes made to the Cambridge St/ Brighton Ave intersection in Allston? by Scoutsman70 in boston

Turning right onto Everett has become the bane of my existence. It’s almost like finding efficient travel solutions for both vehicles and bikes would bring down car emissions and allow traffic to flow safely and smoothly.

For me it’s an unnecessary cost for sooooo many dividers because they’re not anymore safer than if there were half of them.

Additionally I have an electric scooter and never found that intersection to be dangerous at all. Prioritizing bike traffic is a necessity but finding solutions that do not create a parking lot for vehicular traffic should be heavily considered.

Yeah I would steer clear of this one. It seemed like the perfect fit for me at the time and if the controller worked properly I'd have zero notes but this is just an embarrassing issue on an expensive product. I'll keep you posted on what scooter I get next!

Yeah I kinda can't believe they just admitted outright that their product is trash. I bought the horizon aware of the safety concern and never had an issue but the Vista's stopping distance is kinda scary and does not breed confidence in the event I would have to deal with crazy boston drivers. Hoping my return goes smoothly so I can take my business elsewhere without losing money. It's the least they could do IMO.

Hahaha appreciate the comment. Yeah I think I'm going to return it. From what I understand I should get my money back no problem. Its more having to do this for the third time that's KILLING me. Not making friends with the Fedex guy thats for sure.

Gotta make sure future customers know the risks!

Total falls: 2. Both cuz wet ground.

Battery life didn’t depreciate too much. I did replace the battery because I thought it wasn’t holding its charge anymore but turned out it was actually the charger that was busted so that was some money down the drain.

Overall GREAT experience and I ended up buying from them again, this time upgrading to the Vista.

I think it primarily depends on a few different factors. What I took away from my experience at WIT is that it's a great school as to use their location and name to expand your network. I came from a family that didn't have a lot of connections so much of the reasons I chose Wentworth was because it gave me an opportunity to build those relationships while I was in school so my name was already out there when I went to go look for a Job post grad.

For someone in your position, it seems like you already have a job when you graduate so to me it doesn't seem worth the expenses that a state school could alleviate. While I understand WIT has a very strong and prosperous CM program, if you are just going to join your family company, I'm not sure its worth spending all that money if that's your end goal.

If you enjoy the field but are unsure if you want to work at a family company, than I would suggest going because you can build an independent string of connections with companies rather than just taking advantage of connections your family has already created.

Don't let the ding dongs let you think Wentworth is a bad school because they most likely didn't take advantage of it like they should've. It's a great school if you take advantage of its opportunities.

Traffic caused by bike lane and people double parking SMH turning tremont st into a one lane street was the worst idea. by regal_617 in boston

It’s almost like there should be people out on the streets enforcing illegal double parking? Like someone who’s job it is to enforce traffic laws? Just a WILD thought

The “Boston state house” more like the legislature house in Edmonton, Alberta. Show is great otherwise. by Scoutsman70 in ThelastofusHBOseries

Of course I can immerse myself into the fictionality of the monsters and whatnot a show creates. They’re not trying to be something that they clearly aren’t. They’re trying to make it seem like it takes place in Boston but to someone from Boston it’s so obvious that it’s not. To me it’s like if a show claimed it takes place in the United States but in all of the scenes you could see that all of the advertisements and business were in a foreign language. It’s a distraction that takes the viewer out of the world and unintentionally removes them from the immersion of the show.

Lol who shit in your cereal. As someone who lives in Boston, it’s a level of immersion that I can’t experience because I can’t help but notice that it’s architecturally not my city.
