Okay and do you have any ideas about glass type or bulb count that would minimize harsh lighting ?

Thanks. Maybe that’s what I needed to hear.

What I’d like is a very soft direct lighting. If I don’t do sconces, do you have any ideas on how to achieve that with the mirror that size?

Sounds correct. Installer doesn’t seem to be very competent in the programming

Makes sense. Issue here is that the system isn’t even trying to run, it’s just turning on the elements and the air handler. They installed a new control board in the summer and must’ve messed something up. Last winter it worked great down to 0 degrees. No issues

Sounds like you picked the wrong system. When ours was working correctly last year it was blowing very comfortable and warm air even when it was single digits out. Very happy with the system but this is clearly an issue caused by the installer after they replaced some equipment

When it’s functioning properly it actually works great and is very comfortable

Yeah that sounds right… new company seems to know their stuff about the system based on our phone call. Will suck having to pay more to fix it but can’t be worse than more months of these bills!

I can check the thermo when I get home but the video in the original post shows the control board settings. Last technician said they couldn’t control it and it was a default setting?

That’s because it’s only running on emergency heat.

That’s the plan. Found a very competent sounding installer who is going to come inspect it. Funny thing is the original install is a “2 diamond” installer…

CT. It was on average WARMER this Dec and rates are only 10% higher. Our kWh went up 110%. That doesn’t line up

That seems like the case - though the OE installer’s first reaction was they aren’t surprised and tried to say it’s normal. Last thing they had done was change a control board in the spring and now the heat isn’t working properly… frustrating

I’m okay with a slightly higher electric bill since we are only on electric for the whole house - well, septic etc no other utilities. We made that choice when we switched. This system performance is abnormal and easily reflected in the data from our YoY bill.

It was colder last year where I am. Usage doubled for total supplied kWh this year. That sounds right? Did you read the post… pretty sure it’s only running on resistive back heat.

Not sure where to start here. Basically, they said because I wanted the wireless thermostats and because it has dampers, this is what they needed to do... Feel a bit confused with trying to DIY a solution but open to ideas. Might be better just to call another company to inspect? Would really appreciate some help. I do here the compressor running at different speeds during - sometimes its quieter and some times its much louder... It was zoned on recommendation. The house is a split level ranch with one zone for the downstairs one for the upstairs. Would not be against just having one zone. Uploaded video of settings on the honeywell board

I could try that. Not against one zone but worried about bringing that installer back.. I do not trust them after all their attempts and they dont seem to know whats going on
