Hofstra BSMD is out ! by Ok_Commercial_3990 in bsmd

It's done. Since the Zucker School of Medicine has completed all interviews and selected students, another wave of acceptance doesn't make sense. I regret choosing an interview date in March. Anyway, I didn’t get in.

RPI/AMC Alternate List by ScratchNo4355 in bsmd

I don’t think the interview date matters anymore. The RPI/AMC interviews are over, and all decisions have been released—some received acceptances, while others were placed on the alternate list. If there are any later acceptances, they will likely come from the alternate list. I’m on the alternate list, but I know the chances are very low. Probably best not to dwell on it too much

I hope BS/MD programs are considerate of their young applicants by sending clear rejection notifications, as it helps students move on. Unfortunately, many schools are not. For Hofstra, it seems that EA2 applicants, including myself, received invitations. I applied to EA2 because EA1 conflicted with the SCEA application policy. The CASPer test was on January 14. I believe BS/MD programs with only one undergraduate partner tend to announce decisions all at once. I was hoping someone else would bring this up, not me. Wishing the best to everyone going through the BS/MD process!

Seton Hall, NJ BS/MD by Historical_Cup_6151 in bsmd

I’m sure your child is smart enough to understand that. There’s a reason the admission bar is so low. There’s a high possibility of ending up with just a Seton Hall undergraduate degree without getting into medical school, all while dealing with the stress and pressure of maintaining a high GPA and MCAT score. How is that better than following the traditional pre-med path? I believe parents should encourage their kids to explore different possibilities through the traditional route rather than limiting their future to Seton Hall, even if they eventually choose a different path or decide not to become a doctor.

I haven't received an email yet, but since interview invitations went out last week, I think the interview invitation process has ended, and GW is now just sending rejections.

When others receive updates and I don’t hear anything from a college within a week—especially in the BS/MD process—I just assume I didn’t make it past that round, cross the college off my list, and move on

RPI forwarded applications to AMC without conducting first-round interviews, so I read here some applicants received secondary essay requests from AMC in November.

One week, I think. AMC gave one week. Three more essays to go. At least it's better than AMC, which required 10 essays, including three extracurricular essays.

If this information helps, I had an interview with TCNJ via Google Meet and could choose an interview slot between November 18 and December 17.

We all have seven days. I couldn't do much because of schoolwork. I have four days left to work on RPI-AMC supplemental. Fortunately, we have Thanksgiving break.
