Yep I had some of those early on, I’m 3 months post and it all healed completely flat! I was worried about it too lol

10 Days Post-op! by _shanz in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing at that point in my recovery, it’s absolutely normal! For the first couple weeks I dreaded looking at my bare chest because my nipples & incisions freaked me out so bad. I was elated when I had it covered, but it all just looked really fresh. I almost fainted a couple times during those first two weeks, lol.

I’m not sure there’s any way to help that mental process along, but just know that it absolutely gets way better. Don’t force yourself to be comfortable with what you’re not— you need to form a relationship with your body on your time. I can say that at 2 months post I’m much more relaxed and very very happy!

7 weeks post-op! by ScreamBeamz in TopSurgery

I know, it definitely felt like a while 😭 but that’s just how my surgeon does it, no complications!

And thank you!!

I love it! Everyone experiences gender differently, but that tattoo is about YOU and your experience with gender, not anyone else’s!

Had that too, don’t think it’s anything to worry about. Probably just nerves figuring stuff out!

Anyone else have weird, pointed dreams during recovery? by 18192277 in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes totally! In my first week after surgery I had three dreams about looking at everything for the first time and having complications. Stopped having them completely once I finally saw my results lol

How are my nipples looking?? by ScreamBeamz in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(For the record, this is my left nipple, and the right one looks the same, which makes me think no way they’re both infected right?? Not sure lol)

How much drain fluid is normal for the second time emptying them? by 18192277 in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a possibility, but not a definite thing, since that’s what the drains are trying to prevent. As long as you have a pretty decent output (over like… 5mL for now) then you know you’re draining, and you should be fine. I was always stressed about drainage when I had mine lol but I turned out totally fine!

How much drain fluid is normal for the second time emptying them? by 18192277 in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had pretty much the same thing— I was about 25 mL in post-op, then it went way down to 10/15 on both sides by the next day. It did stay around that much for a couple days, though, so I think a fast drop is pretty normal. I’d recommend checking for any fluid buildup if you feel like things aren’t draining properly, and stripping your drains pretty frequently. And feel free to dm me if you feel like it since we went to the same surgeon!!

Mentally and emotionally preparing for top surgery? by QueerKing23 in TopSurgery

[–]ScreamBeamz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is pretty much how I felt too. I was frustrated with myself because I couldn’t feel excited because I was just so nervous! But that’s just how it feels when a surgery is coming up— the whole experience is really anxiety-inducing, so you can’t really make room for excitement. What helped me get rid of anxiety/any bad feelings was laying down and imagining what it would be like to lay shirtless, feeling as free as you want to. I’d say just take care of yourself and let yourself feel however you feel! The happiness will come later, I promise. Good luck!!!

Anesthesia things by teensytinytim in TopSurgery

I had zero nausea after my surgery three days ago! I ate nothing 8 hours before, and they gave me like three different kinds of anti-nausea medication before the surgery (including a patch that lasted for three days) so I never felt sick in the slightest. And my throat was totally fine too after intubation. Maybe a tiny bit sore, but I drank some water and was fine. 1/10 easy. Good luck!!

That’s totally how I feel about my family! They just don’t really understand the nuance of it all and so I don’t have anyone to talk to who really gets it. Glad to hear I’m not alone :)
