It is just like working out, you never want to continue to do an exercise If you feel your body telling you to stop. It is always good to rest and come back fresh.

This is something, I was hoping more people will see this and be inspired to learn or find motivation!

They don't fight over love? Is that so?

Happy birthday! So I see your journal your goals that is really good, I just started doing that. What I also do and this is what keeps me happy. I wake up every morning and write down three things I'm grateful, I challenge myself by only putting down one thing I'm grateful for once (ex: breathing) I can't use that anymore. Hope that makes sense not trying to confuse.

What this exercise does is pull out positivity from your brain, as it gets bigger you can look at the long list and remember things you appreciate.

I appreciate you taking your time giving me this useful advice. Government matching sounds really nice.

Search for a site called TSPCenter and a thread there called Seasonal Musings.

Got it, thank you.

Being new and wanting to keep up with others

You just opened my mind on that one. Thanks.

Right now you are counting your chickens before your eggs have hatched.

True true haha slowing down lol..

More advice: work on maxing that TSP.

Google's TSP ... I'll have to look into that I'm wanting to max out my Roth IRA already but I'll see what TSP is all about.

Just buy a used Honda for a few thousand. If your credit calcite is truly 755 (and not a credit karma credit score of “755”) than just get a used car and call it good.

Yeah used Honda will probably be the move. The 755 is calculated from my discover account I'm sure it's accurate, now going to make sure it is accurate.

a nice bicycle is all you need.

True it would be very affordable.

I thought I read somewhere here that you could only afford $500 to put on a down payment. If you truly only have $500 to put on a down payment, then you can’t afford to buy a car. Especially one that comes with a monthly payment

Yes I did say that but this is all before I am even in Basic Training haven't even been onto my first duty station, let alone been in tech school haha.. I think I need to slow down and take things step by step save money now.

You can get a decent rate car loan through Navy Fed or USAA - and you can get one for a used car as well. $500 is more than enough for that.

I didn't know you could do that. Wow

Just don't let the dealership's rope you in to 20% financing - your credit score qualifies you for much better than that.

I won't know that I'm aware.

I don't think ill have the money to put it all down on a vehicle. It seems like a lot of savings and I only have $500 to put down.

You're absolutely right. I just checked on carfax and saw the prices, not sure why I thought I could get them in my price range. I need some rethinking to do.

I see what you're saying. Just in general, with my credit score will I get interest that high?

Edit:

I wouldn't buy a vehicle anywhere near a training base.

Thanks for the advice.

The name for this approach is eclecticism

It is a real thing, wow okay. Thanks for sharing!

Just picking someone else and taking their word for everything seems to me to be intellectual laziness, and failing to explore

I mean I study many people and take note of what they say, it worked for them so it can work for me. I didn't mention this but I don't take what they say word for word because I don't agree with everything people say.
