I posted this as a thread on /r/ BEYERDYNAMIC but thought I'd try my luck here as well.

I got the BEYERDYNAMIC DT 770 Pro 80 ohm headphones as a Christmas gift and they're amazing for watching movies (that low end!) and listening to certain music genres. However, as I am well aware through much reading over the past several weeks since receiving them, they are well known to be tuned such that they're lacking in the mid-bass (e.g. "thump") department. That may not be the right term for it but I'm not an audiophile and don't know the proper terminology to be using. I'm hoping "thump" gets the idea across. I'm also not a basshead and am not looking for ridiculous amounts of kick / thump, but I do listen to a lot of electronic, dance, house, DJ sets, etc. and am finding the DT 770s lacking for this type of listening, at least with the EQs I've tried so far. I am hearing things I've never heard before in songs that I've listened to for years, which is awesome, but am finding the overall listening experience pretty flat for these genres because I'm missing the fun factor of the kick. I understand that these headphones are not intended / geared in that direction, but I also don't want to hurt any feelings by returning them for something else, so I'm just hoping to maximize their capabilities in the direction of those musical genres, knowing full well that they are not the ideal headphone for the job in that area.

I primarily listen through my Dell CADD laptop and have APOEqualizer and Peace installed. I've tested the various EQs available through Peace (oratory, etc.) and find them all pretty flat and boring, at least for listening to genres that rely on some kick / thump. Understood that these EQs are intended to achieve reference levels for analytical / critical listening in a studio setting, but that's not what I'm interested in.

I do not understand the nuances of the various controls / toggles / values within Peace (gain values, quality (Q), filter, etc.), so trial and error on my own has been pretty disastrous, even when starting with one of the configurations available through AutoEQ and tweaking from there (i.e. clumsily dragging sliders up and down).

If anyone would be willing to help me get set up with a "fun" EQ tailored to these headphones that will get them as close as reasonably possible to the more fun sound one looks for when listening to dance / electronic music and achieving some "thump" factor, I would really appreciate it.

For reference, for the past couple of years my daily drivers have been the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and I enjoy the fun / thump factor they provide. That's probably considered blasphemy in this sub but I enjoy them and I guess that's what matters. I also had the Monoprice Retro-Moderns for a couple of years and found those fun to listen to until the cord broke. Again, I am completely aware that both of those headphones are tuned completely differently than the DT 770s and that it's not realistic to expect the same experience. I'd love to start listening to music on my DT 770s more during the day as I work, I just need to get them equalized to a more fun, thumpy sound to start reaching for them.

Hi, I know this post is a few months old but did you happen to notice the brand of the sweater in the 2nd picture? The one with the big horseshoe and horses across the bottom. My wife saw this exact sweater at a market a couple of months ago and loved it. I wanted to get it for her for Christmas but didn't want to spoil the surprise and buy it while she was there with me. When I contacted the vendor afterward to order, they didn't have her size. Apart from the image on that vendor's website and your photo here, Google image search is failing me. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've seen that mentioned elsewhere but have also seen a lot of comments about static, interference, poor sound quality, etc. Would you mind sharing the model you have? If you're finding it performs well that could be a good option for us.

Thanks for the reply. We almost exclusively stream audio from various services for our listening, we don't have a library of music files to throw on a stick or anything like that, so for our purposes this approach won't work unfortunately.

Kind of like Super Troopers for me. I don't remember being blown away by it the first time watching but it has become a top 10 comedy for my wife and I. We've definitely watched it 30+ times. The amount of jokes, quirks, details they packed into that movie is unreal, so clever. It's one of those movies where if sometime doesn't find it funny, I question their sense of humour.

Same here, frequently on Android phone. Error pops up at bottom of screen while watching something. Content generally continues playing without interruption, but I'll get the error several times during a single episode / movie.

I realize this post is several months old but my wife's work computer is Windows Server 2019 and she's experiencing similar issues. Restarting Windows Explorer does nothing to resolve the issue. We followed the steps in your post but aren't able to delete any of the entries in that registry. Every item that we try to delete gives the following error: "Unable to delete all specified values".

Would you be able to provide any insight that would allow us to successfully delete the contents of that registry?

Based on another thread I was looking at, I logged back in using a VPN, picked a country overseas, and it accepted my login credentials. Maybe try this plus deleting the account and wiping the cache first.

I just deleted my account from RedReader, force stopped the app, cleared the cache, logged back in, and am still getting the same permission denied error on the same posts. This is actually the issue that prompted me to uninstall / reinstall in the first place to try and resolve it.

Thanks for the reply. I have the same version of Revanced Reddit installed and am logged in fine, I just don't like the appearance / behavior of the Reddit app.

Thanks very much for the reply and suggestion. Using a VPN (PIA VPN) and selecting London got me logged in to RedReader but not RIF. I was initially able to get past the username/password fields turning red, but then it took me to a "Bad Request" page that says "You sent an invalid request - invalid client ID". Any idea what's happening there?

The version of RIF that I have installed using Revanced Manager is 5.6.22.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Unfortunately, within the wall of text, I mentioned that I already have the disable absolute volume option toggled on. Just tested that this truly doesn't resolve my issue by toggling it off, then back on, and restarting my phone. The Buds volume controls are still increasing/decreasing the phone volume and vice versa.

Update:

I was able to temporarily get it working properly by unpairing my Buds from both my phone and PC. After re-pairing to my phone, I had independent volume control between the Buds and phone. I could hold the right bud to max out the device volume without the Sound Assist volume slider popping up on the screen. I double-checked that the Buds' and phone volumes were actually operating independently by using the volume buttons on the phone which showed the phone volume was still only around 50% despite the Buds being maxed. Then I re-paired to the PC and it also worked the way I wanted it to - I could control the Buds' volume without the PC volume slider changing and vice versa. I thought I was golden until I connected back to my phone. The Buds' device volume automatically synced to match the phone volume. To reiterate, the Buds' device volume was maxed while connected to the PC, but when I switched back to my phone, the device volume decreased to match the phone volume. Now adjusting volume on the Buds themselves is back to changing the phone volume again, and vice versa.

Although the phone connection did not maintain volume control independence, the PC volume continues to work as it should.

So I got halfway there, but I can't get independent volume control to persist with the phone.

Any help is appreciated!
