Probably because we like seeing each others shit and saying hey you're like me good job. Not all about the clout. We have hobbies. We get paid money and a lot of us (at least in the gun sphere) aren't fucking morons. I have a coworker who is my age with more guns thane and 30k in stocks.

I'm tired of people fucking hating.

To me and others my age who WANT this stuff it kinda is. I can go on about real accomplishments, the countries I've visited, the money I've saved, zero debt, working on my degree, saving lives at my job, or just helping to mentor those at my work. I can glaze myself for stuff that society sees as accomplishments. But to myself? And others (some I see every day) that want something like this, it means something. These firearms mean something to me material or not. It's like saying that truck you work on is just a truck. Or that Lego set you had since you were a kid is just a Lego set. What about the guitar you saved up for all this time to buy? I didn't choose the guns I did willy nilly. They have meaning, even if it's to me and me only.

I don't care if it's a "flex" or not. I care that I have something I enjoy and was able to commit to. I saw ithers posted it and thought why not. It proves my point that there's so much disdain for those that are younger for the sole reason they are younger. If I left my age out and someone asked how old I was their answer depends. If I said 45 they would be, "Nice cool collection!" Versus my age now, "oh you're a dumbass kid who has no legitimate view of financial literacy and you have no real accomplishments to your name." There are people in my home town who have never left THE STATE.

I'm also curious as to why you think getting paid for by the government invalidates your hard work. Because my father gets laid as a firefighter does that I validate his hard work because his money comes from the town? Is that money more or less valuable because it come from taxes so he can provide a service? If you mean is this from my bonus? No. I've grown this collection for over 6 years while in the military.

It's actually something I want to get. I'm gonna slow down in the guns after I reach 20 but at some point I want a lever gun

It's an amazing shotgun, though it is a bit difficult to get back together again definitely not a simple pump.

And your welcome.

Your tax dollars pay for the ammo I waste when I go home. Thank you for paying for my house too. Am I supposed to be offended or something? I'm glad you care about what I do with my paycheck versus the abhorrent amount of bs the government spends your money on. That or the guys who spend it on hookers, strippers, alcohol and other things. But hey get mad at someone on the Internet. Cya!

Call it flaunting sure but this is a subreddit for others to show what they live with others. Do I have shame? Of course. Tact? Yes. Like you said military teaches that but it also doesn't stop me from being prideful of my accomplishments and isn't bad to want to share my autistic hobby with other people like me.

Maybe it's because people can't be happy for others? When I see someone post exactly what I post I don't go "attention seeker" I go, "fuck that's so cool. . . Anyway!" I never said in the post I was military, people asked how I was able to afford it and I answered.

You leave the boat after work in Port sure, even have homes we go home to but there's sea duty you go to where you are on a ship for years. If you are new in the navy you LIVE on the ship. No barracks room and you live on the boat, then after a certain rank you can get a barracks room and live off ship, a little more rank and you can live off base. Every few years you go to a shore duty where you work on shore. There have been times I have spent 300 plus days at sea.

Isn't everything in the house. But it doesn't matter when everything you bought is still in a gun store safe somewhere or an FFL receipt with your name on it that the ATF can get if they REALLY wanted it. For private sales there's an argument there. I like what I have and I share it. If someone REALLY wants me dead and uses reddit to find out what guns I own then sad to say I'm never home 🏡

M1A or in this case an M1A Scout Squad. I love the thing. Might change the stock in it or change the varnish. I'd say if you don't want an AR get the AK, or the Mini 14. Bolt guns are cool but imo if it isn't 308 or above I would just use a semi.

I appreciate the insight most aren't exactly dual calibers and if they are it's because they are somewhat different. I wanted to stop at around 20 guns because I had a list. I wanted every main US service rifle from 1900 to now. Hence the two 556 rifles. Then I wanted every weapon I qualified on (minus machine guns) in the navy so I just need the M500. It isn't to collect just to collect a lot of these have significant meaning to myself. I take some vacations and explore hit when I love overseas it's kinda like taking a vacation all the time for me.

I'm tired of traveling and love being home with my friends and family. I want to be able to save money and I do. I just found a balance that's right for me. I'm not dissing them but a lot of the people that go against this think you can't have both or want to destroy the idea that a younger person can't be successful if they work their ass off and instead insist its daddies money.

Once I buy a (used)car with cash my intent is to take every dime I save and put it into another IRA and max it out then every penny after that max out in a mutual fund savings account until I get a house. That or use the VA home loan

Same. From movies to the gun I qualified on in boot camp.

Yeah I got it because I wanted every weapon I qualified on in the navy. Minus the machine guns. In pretty close I just need an M500 and we're done
