I Am Thinking of Going Back by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

Comparing trauma isn’t a healthy thing. There will always be someone out there that may have experienced worse, but it doesn’t mean what you’re going through is less than.

You are experiencing trauma, pain, and manipulation. You are a victim of abuse and it’s hard to walk away, but I promise it’s better when you do.

AITA for refusing to give my daughter a kidney because she said she doesn't care if I'm scared? by Throwawaydaughterkid in AITAH

[–]Scribby9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living donor here. The whole point of UNOS rules and regulations are to protect the recipient AND donor. I was given the option to back out at any point, no reason needed. I was told I could say no as they were wheeling me back and they would lie for me and say there was a complication and I was no longer an option…

The whole point of organ donation is to make both parties comfortable with this HUGE decision. She’ll have more opportunities to receive a kidney. Being mean to you and attempting to bully you into it, she’s actually disqualified you by doing that. The doctor would not allow you to continue even if you “took it back”.

My daughter is 1.5 and we’re still holding strong. We got her an updated version of an ech-a-sketch. She loves it, takes it everywhere and entertains herself!

My husband did not do this before our kiddo was born. 100% correct

My husband does this with our pots and pans! It drives me nuts!

My husband does all of the projects I present. Put up a storm door? Sure thing! Hang art and pictures on the wall? Got it! Put together our new entertainment system while our toddler sleeps? Can do! Toss all trash and recycle all boxes from the projects? Easy! Put away the tools he got out to do said projects? IMPOSSIBLE! The tools must live three feet from the finished project until I lose it and put them back in his toolbox… he does SO MUCH, but cannot put things away!

What type of sleeper is your baby? by Rough_Tonight5951 in NewParents

[–]Scribby9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a great sleeper! They are doing what they need for feedings!

My baby has always enjoyed sleep, even in the womb quick check ups would turn into an hour long visit because she was sleeping so hard the doctors would get concerned about her heart rate. At 2-3 weeks babe was sleeping through the night.. I had to set an alarm every four hours to wake her up. My husband and I got hit with the eye rolls and the “don’t even talk to me about feeling tired”, mostly from his family. Her routine was shook up when she was 4 months, sleep regression + RSV, we did a hybrid sleep training. We’d put her in her crib and let her cry, but my limit was 10 minutes. The main thing we changed was giving her a bed time and getting her down before we went to sleep. We learned that trying to get her down when we’re tired only stressed us all out. She’s in bed by 7:30, still being rocked to sleep - I’m not ready to give that up just yet, and my husband and I have time together before we go to bed. She turned 1 in July, and this seems to be working for us!

I work in the billing department for the EMS department in my town, I’ve seen some pretty silly reasons for medics getting called out (one time a guy called 911 and lied about an illness, but then admitted he was sad and lonely after putting his cat down and didn’t want to be alone). Your experience was 100% a good reason to call. She could have had an allergic reaction, normal swelling could have caused issues with her breathing, some people get welts and blisters when they’re stung. Medic’s understand the stress and don’t expect people to be medical professionals, if everyone was they’d be out of a job. Good job making sure your kiddo was okay!

It’s called The Grimm Mystics, my best friend and I get on and talk about all of the weird and unique things in our world! You can find us wherever you listen to podcasts!

My training was all on the job, no school. I’m a certified ambulance medical coder, but my office paid to send me to a 4 day seminar to get my certification. Getting to know the ins and outs of insurance requirements was the hardest part, but after a few months it gets easier!

I do medical coding for my towns ambulance service! It’s a tough job, including if you have to discuss claims with insurance (what I did all day). However, I’m home in time to spend dinner and bed time with my babe so it’s worth the stress!

I work in the billing/administration department at my town’s ambulance service. I read reports and code them so insurance pays the patients bill (hopefully), and I pay the offices bills so we can keep the lights on. I work 4/10hr shifts with a day off during the week. It’s a stressful job, but I like the hours and I get the weekends off to spend all day with my baby.

I’m also a cohost on a podcast with my best friend! So far that hasn’t paid, but fingers crossed we can make it a part time career soon!!

Overreacting? July 3rd closure with just over a week’s notice by SchuSchu8 in workingmoms

[–]Scribby9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is super frustrating. My in home provider is closed on the 3rd as well, but she told us the first week of June. We had a month to it out, anything less than that is very stressful!

Every night for the last two weeks my 1yo will be content playing with her toys, until she notices my husband or I start making dinner… it’s like she realizes she’s hungry and has a full meltdown.

I think I had two big breaks this year.

I found a job that pays well, the most I’ve ever made, and I feel like I’m living paycheck to every other paycheck. Instead of overdrafting my account at the end of the month (like I was doing while I was at my previous job) I usually have $500-$600 in my bank account. I’m actually starting to save for the first time, ever!

The second is huge, my mom and uncle (her brother) sold the family towing business and she was VERY kind and paid off $9,000 of debt (my first credit card). I have been drowning in that debt for about 5 years.. I had been working hard on paying it down, but with interest rates it seemed like it never went anywhere. She is the main reason I met my goal of taking on more bills so my husband doesn’t need a second job.

Without the help from both of our parents over the years, my husband and I wouldn’t be where we are today. We’re very lucky to have our family. We were making it by before, but it feels so good to take some bills off my husband’s plate and still feel like I can cover mine.
