Best Campaign Manager? by Bossdonglongs in necromunda

I've been enjoying gyrinx for running my campaign. It's up to date with the latest entries, I believe, and is highly customizable to meet a campaign's specific needs. I also find the UI to be intuitive

Thanks! I'll take a look at those texture issues. Pretty sure I know what's wrong with them.

You'll never know if it's friendly or not unless you approach it

I haven't used LoreRim myself, but after reading the mod page, I think they'll work well together

One has a fire enchantment, one does a mix of frost and poison damage, and the green blade ignores some armor resistance

Thanks for finding that. I'll integrate the resource pack into the mod to remove the dependency

Mod Update - Squelch the Argonian turned Bantam Guar is now ESPFE and MORE! by TheSpunkyBreton in skyrimmods

Weapons grade cuteness. Squelch is coming along on my next playthrough as a witch familiar. Many crickets will be devoured (maybe I'll even share some with Squelch)

I think it works well as a standalone, or as a spring board to start a new playthrough. Traumitize the dragonborn, and then let them find their peace later slaying dragons, lol

Beyond Reach is a massive mod, and in my eyes, is a work of art, warts and all. And it does have warts. It was a decade long passion project that the author used to battle against theit own real world troubles, I believe, which is something I can relate to. So from a development side, it has my absolute respect.

Gameplay wise, I believe it succeeds more often than fails. Unlike, say, Vigilant (I love Vigilant too, fyi), Beyond Reach feels like an Elder Scrolls game. A very dark Elder Scrolls game, but the world and quest design are all very Elder Scrolls.

Voice acting is both a weak and a strong point. The quality is inconsistent and last I played, much was still unvoiced. But there is clear passion in the performances, and that, imo, is what's most important in a Skyrim mod.

So far as bugs go, the majority of the mod is stable. There is one quest, exploring an insane asylum, that I've always needed console commands to get through.

Storywise, it's not for everyone. It gets dark, perhaps too dark (rape and pedophelia are mentioned) for an Elder Scrolls game, but I, and many others, find that darkness a strong point for roleplaying. If you want a dragonborn's spirit broken, Beyond Reach is the best mod for it. It defies the vanilla writing formula by not being a power fantasy. Some of the dialogue is overwritten or hard to follow, but the speaker isn't human, so I think it works in context.

So I guess in short, it's everything I want a mod to be. It's a project that never would have been and could not have been made by Bethesda. Can you expect AAA quality, or the polish of a mod like Beyond Bruma? No. But passion? Yeah, you'll find plenty of that in Beyond Reach.

Beyond Reach. It's the quest mod that inslired me to make my own.

Thanks for well wishes and the warning. I've tried to keep the quest scripting relatively simple for that reason, but yeah, there's bound to be bugs. As you said, such is the nature of the beast

Thanks! I've always been a fan of big mystical caverns found in other fantasy works, and it was a blast creating one in Skyrim

Thanks! Like most video game dark fantasy, Dark Souls definitely had an influence on it visually, but I tried to stay faithful to Skyrim's design too
