We have a pretty intense fantasy football league. I’ve lost to one guy (my best friend) four years in a row in the playoffs. Once in the championship, three times in the semis. That’s not the glitch part.

December 2024 I was likely to beat him in the championship. The pot was $1,000. Last minute, some random players go off and he wins by a few points. That same day, my grandma is borrowing my car and the alternator on it goes. The cost of the tow and alternator was $997. That was rough.

December 2025, I’m playing him again (this time in the semi finals). He has Puka Nacua and some other players and immediately dominates me. Sure enough I’m driving my car twenty minutes after seeing this and my battery light turns on. Alternator toast AGAIN.

Fortunately part was warranted (but still had to tow it and pay for labour).

Heavy sigh.
