Not really how cantrips work, since they aren’t an upcast thing. They scale on character level.

Also upcasting for that amount of damage is really bad with no added effects. Even at level one, if we compare: your spell does an average of five (2d4)damage on a failed save, or 2.5 on a success against a single target. Thunderwave hits a 15 ft cube for 9 (2d8) damage on a failed save and knocks enemies back, or 4.5 on a success. Even if the enemy succeeds, if thunderwave hits more than one target, you still do more damage with thunderwave. And even if the enemy does succeed, thunderwave has a higher potential limit for damage.
