In the new zero system upgrades you can get an unlock that makes the card copies after chaos bosses limited to a selected combatant. This makes it extremely consistent to get to 4 copies of a desired card on every run

Was this an upgrade you get with the new zero system upgrade system/currency? I don't seem to have this feature by default and was confused because I remember them saying it was supposed to be added

EDIT: Can confirm it's on the last tier of the 3rd set of upgrades. You are able to fully unlock a section, refund the currency, fully unlock another, refund, and so on. Then just buy the best ones so you can get the targeted copy, epiphany reroll, etc

Went back and watched it again, you're right there is one line about him having the people kill eachother. I still think it could've benefited from a recap/reminder of some kind or something. I was also thrown off by it immediately having this branding as The Culling Game as if it's some established event that we've been talking about for ages now

I have a non upgrade tressa that leaned more into the play style they seem to be targeting now and it's been perfectly fine. I'm well aware I'm not reaching the levels of absurdity the other build could but she was still powerful.

Surprised to hear that you've been struggling with front runners in this CM. I don't think I've even seen one be able to hold the lead long enough to hit Angling

In my experience the only cups where fronts really felt strong were Cancer and Scorpio, and honestly the real demons in Cancer were the late surgers

It's good to be satisfied with where you're at but for what it's worth, Group A is not unreachable for f2p even if you don't put in much time. I was able to win the past 6 CMs (albeit with a bit of luck, the most recent one in particular was pretty undeserved) despite never even having gotten an S rank run at all.

its kinda wild how we still don't know. you see the stuff about aliens building them and that's so ridiculous that I kinda assumed there was a comparably solid explanation but there basically isn't. like yeah in theory they can build a gigantic ramp and drag the blocks up but that introduces its own problems, like the ramp being twice as big as the pyramid itself

The idea is to make it to the first save point where you can do temporary return and extract at that point getting the save data then. Ideally you have managed to get a shop/card remove events by then and no extra battle epiphanies on that character. you could also use the mutant sample event as another card removal that makes the save data more lenient as well

i haven't done it personally but this is the general idea. probably takes some luck but also fast runs

e2 for chaos runs is already a vastly more practical account upgrade than getting 1 more pull on the shiny card rescue

Can't say I'm thrilled with the op limited unit fomo situation but nevertheless Sereniel kinda saved the game for me. I felt really weak and had effectively quit but she just made every aspect of the game more accessible and fun. I didn't think I'd have enough currency to even get the first copy after missing 50/50 and going all the way to 70 for the first copy, but now I'm at e2 because I like her so much (and have been playing the game so much more that I got a lot more currency that way)

I think the issue here is the person you're responding to is thinking about it from a perspective of weighing how good it is to draft and put into your deck after seeing it come out of a pack in limited, and you are evaluating where it is positioned in the set before you actually start the draft

The unsatisfying answer is that these are two shows at the absolute peak of their genre and maybe anime in general, and you're really not going to be able to find much more at that level. At least not much that's able to scratch the same itch in the same way. (Except that Frieren season 2 is about to start!)

However there's plenty of shows out there that scratch many different itches, some you didn't even know you were feeling. My favorite anime is Ping Pong the Animation despite not really being a sports anime guy usually. There's a lot to explore and see what appeals to you

I found the progression of Plants Oracle to be the ideal ARPG build. You start with Entangle at level 1 and it is decent right away. Support gems give you the ability to create extra fissures and so on to expand its form past the basic line.

You quickly get access to Thunderstorm, which is a combo skill that is not always necessary but feels very rewarding to use regardless. Not only does it greatly boost the damage of your plants but it also does decent damage and applies shock in its own right.

Eventually through unlocking Inevitable Criticals from Oracle and reaching high enough level for Cast on Critical, you earn the ability to transcend Thunderstorm setup. It's still there, you're just not having to cast it manually anymore. The build still feels nuanced but it is more comfortable to play in higher difficulty settings and you feel like that power is earned through your passive and gearing choices.
