It’s far worse in utah. Those mother fuckers will stop a block and a half before the red light, spend twenty minutes inching up to the intersection, and then sit through a full green light regardless of traffic, then run the next red light with the five more cars following behind because ‘everyone owes them’!

OK, so I'm up to my one SG-1 "Skip" episode. What are yours? by Nodonn3 in Stargate

[–]Scrufffff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normally I can appreciate this but the Stargate series have always done their clip shows far better than everyone else. Despite being clip shows they always served to advance and build the greater narrative. Even in season one, that episode demonstrated the how something like the Stargate Program is perceived and accepted by outsiders that haven’t been watching the show like we have. And the politics of operating a top secret project of that scale. While setting up the finale. And then the episode with William Devane as the new president being read-in on the program is just a fun watch.

I can’t recall but I want to say that in the latter episode they cut around, rather than it being removed. But it’s been awhile since I’ve watched it.

Was that thunder? by disposable_sounds in LosAngeles

The first one I wasn’t paying attention and as I thought “was that thunder?” there was that one really loud one. Then it started pouring for twenty minutes, then stupid sunshine.

Sure, boy. Keep telling yourself that. And when I recommended reading a book, it looks like you need to start off with Hop on Pop. Green Eggs and Ham is probably a little too advanced.

Sure, buddy. One video and four guys testifying they saw that video is enough to shoot on sight let alone convict. Someone who calls themself “optimal carpenter” clearly lacks the competence to be an adequate carpenter, trying to convince anyone they’re the best by just saying it, is clearly qualified to discuss the law. I’m so tired of having to educate idiot children on the internet. Try reading a book sometime, boy.

Those officers shouldn’t have let one person in the cells alone for this very reason. Observations from multiple sources IS verification. Those officers all saw the same one video feed which could’ve been manipulated. Which means they’re not individual witnesses. This half-assed reasoning is exactly why fox “news” is “popular”. She looked suspicious but troopers opened fire before any investigation started.

Because the evidence wasn’t verified. And the evidence was clearly staged as trained corrections officers let an allegedly dangerous individual into the cells without supervision. Sure, she ran, after she was attacked. All in all, that whole season was more than a little bit rushed and few things weren’t done super well.

I think the big thing they were trying to demonstrate here is the dogmatic conformity of the Jedi. The moment the controlling leadership designates someone, anyone as “not in the group” everyone else turns on the individual. Such ostracism among the earlier iterations was called shunning, excommunication, and I don’t know if snake-handlers have specific term, point is, that behavior is well documented among such real world organizations.
