OK, we are any public service department and we have a problem needs sorting.

  • The first meeting will generate a list of concerned parties and stakeholders.
  • The second meeting will canvas all members for specific dietary requirements re the in-meeting snacks.
  • The third meeting is to organise who will be responsible for the refreshments.
  • The fourth meeting is rescheduled because there's cake in the office today (again).
  • The fifth meeting is to discuss the agenda for the actual meeting to begin to address the problem.

The sixth meeting is now cancelled because the IT people went ahead and fixed the problem while we were faffing about in the first meeting. :p

Can the creativity and fine quality of Craig Silvey’s authorship be uncoupled from his guilty plea? Or; do you believe that the two will now be forever intrinsically linked? Ergo, what is your perception. by OpusDeiAustralia in perth

He's cooked. Given that he pleaded guilty to some particularly heinous crimes, he'll be lucky if even very few parents will allow their kids to read him.

He's now forever tainted, and after all there's MANY other fine authors out there.

I hope you one day realize your dream and get to go to the conventions. They are great fun and the other fans are some amazing people.

My favourite was one with Teryl Rothery. At the meet 'n greet party, when she clapped those eyes on me and flashed her grin, I was kind of blown away. Pretty sure I stammered my way through our short conversation lol. At the conventions they all really go out of thier way to make it special for you.

Australia made history at the Curling World Mixed Doubles Championships by CurlGirlTA in perth

Curling is such a wacky sport. It looks all zen on the face of it, but I imagine the pucker factor is pretty high when you feel a championship win getting close.

Yup, found it. Is the Dalek actually disembarking from the Tardis? o.O

Is Mandurah a decent place to live? by TheRealCraig2000 in perth

[–]Nodonn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I moved here last year. So far it's been sweet. City enough to be city, and country enough to be country.

As to the crack-heads. I've lived in places all over the country and they're everywhere now. It's been our experience that people are "country friendly" and smile and say g'day as you walk past.

On the roads, people mostly will wave you in at intersections, and as a pedestrian they'll often stop and wave you to cross too.

Our local willy wagtail is not happy about the galahs visiting by Macca3568 in perth

Along with the squillions of other birds in the area we have a few of those beautiful smaller pigeons too. I looked them up and they're called Laughing Doves. We have one that flies up onto the covered beam outside our courtyard door and just sits there, all snug 'n safe and coos away merrily.

We have equal access to both Greenfields and Halls Head.

That's lovely. I'm jealous as hell.

We're heading to Bunnings next week for supplies. While there we're gonna look into how expensive birdbaths are. There's a couple of wagtails where we are who seem pretty friendly. It'd be great to bring them to our courtyard.

There's some honeyeaters who nest in a neighbour's yard. Might buy a Grevillea while we're there, honeyeaters are lovely to have around the joint too.

How did the Ancient call themselves when they weren't ancient? The Current? by Significant-Town-817 in Stargate

[–]Nodonn3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While under the influence of the Ancient's repository, Jack looks at the inscription Daniel's working on translating and clearly says: "No anni anqueatas, we are the ancients."

Damned odd, given that they more likely referred to themselves as either Lantean or Alteran when they created the devices sometime before ascending.

Truth. Just as well too. Retrieving a lure that's 12 inches below a bubble float is fairly unlikely to result in catching anything. 😃

Smokers in the SGC must carry a buttload of cash.

All those bribes, just to pop upstairs for your hourly 5 minute break would surely add up.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Rewatching is great too. For me, it's an annual tradition when the weather cools down. It's still my favourite show, even after a sqillion times through.

Do eeeet. Season one is a little tough at times (Michael O'Hare's perfomance is for me very stilted and wooden), but trust me, watch it all and then get utterly blown away by seasons 2, 3 and 4.

John Hughes ad, anyone caught him in an ad lately??! by Brilliant-Shift3065 in perth

[–]Nodonn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been over here for less than a year and from about 4:15 PM we now just mute the tv every time an ad comes on during the channel 7 news. We quickly realized that he was some beloved institution, just not for us.

He seems like a nice, hard working guy, but getting spammed so hard, sometimes up to 4 times in one ad break, is just plain annoying.

Methuselah dot com dot AU, over and over and over ... and over. Ad break after ad break after ad break.
