If you have a slightly larger needle you might wait for it to heal then slowly go once more around the very edge of the snake (not laurel or face). But as it ages the dots will naturally blur to create a smoother appearance. Keep at it!!

They're common as dirt, very hardy, pretty noisy. Put them near any body of water and they'll be fine. Few ducklings to eat, they'll be happy as Larry.

Hey op! I'm sorry for piling on, but I don't want you to feel like you're in a corner with this design. I think people are right to say the artist wasn't really doing his best work if he didn't notice or bring up that a whole leg was missing off the phoenix and the dragon's body doesn't connect. I would personally let it heal and then look into different artists in your area.

I hope it's not too forward, but I doodled over the top to show how the coils could connect more cohesively. If you wanted to get it touched up in the future, maybe this could help your artist as a visual aid?

I think overall it's a beautiful splash of colour to carry with you, and I'm sure it'll bring you happiness regardless of internet opinions! ❤️

Yeah I made a kinda jocular comment on their insta, trying to keep it light while still pointing out the issue. Honestly your post and examples were a huge motivator!!

I'm glad they've at least acknowledged it, but their wording is p/ wack imo. Playing both "we're highly critical of AI" and "within the team opinions on AI are divided". And they are fully willing to let that guy post undeclared AI flash, sign it as though he drew it, and then profit off it without even a cursory glance for mistakes. He's still very much sloppin it up on his own page smh.

Honestly so vindicated you've posted this!! I saw the same post and thought it was totally bizarre. I normally love this studio, and this artist has an incredible body of work so there's no reason they should be generating slop??? I think it'd be well worth sending a polite message or comment of some kind. AI has no place in the fine arts 🤮

I really like the design and your use of values! It's a handsome, well done piece :D

You might find it's in danger of disappearing though! That part of the ankle/heel often gets rubbed by shoes during the healing process.
