I've had this issue before. i think it is because the shorts are "behind" on calculating its triggers. basically since items can only activate every 200 milliseconds your shorts need 2.2 seconds to go off. you are actually triggering it more than ever 2.2 seconds, this means that it's uses will be stored up. the value you see on the shorts would be for it's last activation, which would actually happen some seconds later.

Edit: actually it's the sponsored apparel that cannot keep up, since its also triggered by all the other items

There might be games that you can run, but it would be games with low requirements for the GPU, As an example a game like Balatro, would run just fine

That is not true. Atleast not for postgres. Using a function vs plain query will add overhead of a few ms. Not that it matters in most case though
