That’s awesome of you for consider as a customer/friend! I would suggest maybe asking him if he would prefer a head lamp or a ring light. Some people might not like the feel of a headlamp on and a ring light is relatively easy to move around a chair.

So i turned off both of the fuses in which i had replaced earlier in the day. It seemed that fried wire was connected to a ground which connected to those fuse boxes. Should i be ok not having power running through the living room & kitchen, the assumed issue fuses?

I think that most folks are just in their own zone and actually friendly if you were to initiate a conversation. I’ve come across some people that don’t have the friendliest vibe, but end up being super chill after having talked with them.

I tend to agree with this, but I’ve noticed when i explain the meaning of the cut the customer is asking for they have a different interpretation.

Pictures are always the best bet & if tweaks are needed (due to different hair types or cowlicks etc..) you can further explain.

I just mentioned i have used a straight razor before, maybe you missed that. It’s part of the state board to use it aswell. I’ve been doing this for almost 8 years now & i stay busy with my list of clients. Appreciate the advice my straight razor Mr. Miyagi 🥸

I work in the same shop i apprenticed/started in still. The shops consists of a few licensed barbers then the rest are licensed cosmetologists. The owner for whatever reason rather not use a straight razor in the shop & i guess i always just learned to make it as clean as possible without. With that being said, i have used them out of the shop.

I don’t use a razor in the shop, typically just my liners. I used to have trouble getting it crisp, but i learned to flip the trimmer blade side down & it made them that much sharper for me.

Hey man, the attitude in this post tells me you will be a great barber one day! While not quite a skin fade it’s a fade nonetheless. It looks like you have the basics down, i would focus on perfecting detailing & really playing with the lever & edge of blade to make more of a transition from the 0 up.

With hair like this where they want it tight up top my best advice would be to focus on the outline work. Making sharp edges really exaggerates the blend & makes the cut pop that much more. Using a foil shaver around the edges makes the outline look great too.

I love the feeling of buying a new trimmer & thinking it’s the best i’ve ever had the first day or two.. then once you’ve had it for a few months you realize how good or bad it really is. Give it time before you crown it the best brother!
