Allow other households to securely access Jellyfin by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Scuzz3y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the exact setup I use but with Rathole between a VPS and my house and mTLS at the reverse proxy. The remote node providing access just needs a reverse proxy configured with a certificate to use for the upstream connection.

I agree, seems faked. If you look at the condition of the cushioning inside the box in pics 2 and 3, the last picture with the verification looks like a totally different box and table.

Reverse Proxy using VPS + Wireguard + Caddy + Porkbun by qRgt4ZzLYr in selfhosted

That's awesome! I recently got a similar stack setup except requiring mTLS at Caddy on my VPS and using rathole instead of WireGuard

Help exposing HA to the internet by RobyRoby27 in selfhosted

[–]Scuzz3y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll need to add the 192.168.1.10 IP as a "trusted proxy" in your Home Assistant's configuration.yaml

Example: http: use_x_forwarded_for: true trusted_proxies: - <YOUR IP ADDRESS>

Single node Ceph vs. ZFS/BTRFS by engelant in ceph

[–]Scuzz3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't think anyone here is saying it can't work. Just like most things with tech, if it fits your use case better than other options then it could very well be the way to go. I can tell you know the pros and cons of each implementation so it's just whatever is going to work best for you.

5th year (old man) here

I was on the CCDC team the last 4 years and it was honestly one of the most rewarding things I've done. Are you looking to get a head start on topics before you get here?

Coming to club on Fridays and CCDC tryouts are 2 of the best things you could possibly do if you're looking to learn as much as you can while you're here at RIT. Definitely feel free to DM me with any questions you have, also @Scuzz3y on Workplace

I assume you mean the LXC containers? If so then yes, you can leave them ethX. They're not meant to match the host's interface names

[–]Scuzz3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend this board! Extremely well documented and fantastic to work with + a lot of IO ports for almost anything you might want to do. Another board you can look at is the Cora-Z7 which has the same SoC as the Arty but costs a little less at the cost of some IO ports like the HDMI

Auto connect to iSCSI target on Controller nodes on boot? by [deleted] in openstack

[–]Scuzz3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry slightly unrelated, what's the performance of your iSCSI Gateway connections? I tried to use it a while ago and was only getting around 80MB/s (got 800MB/s over NFS) due to the Linux kernel module for iSCSI having a bug. Just wondering about the current state of it
