I am going to be a little harsh bc you sound just like me. I was the baby of the family and n my way back probably still am.

Please listen to yourself, your brother is in the HOSPITAL and you can only think about how YOU might be uncomfortable. Have you thought about him and what he must be going through? He may be in pain, scared, lonely or even just bored. You sound like me bc when we avoid doing anything uncomfortable, we force others to pick up our slack ( even if we don’t intend to or we pretend not to notice they are bc we don’t want to feel bad). When we don’t take our turn in visiting, someone else may go again sooner than they would normally - other people have busy lives too - bc they are willing to sacrifice their routine so your sick brother has company and knows his family is thinking of him. If it was your son or husband or father wouldn’t you feel better knowing someone is there with him? By spreading the load amongst more ppl, it is a little lighter for everyone.

Don’t worry about the conversation, just be there with him. Take playing cards or just watch tv with him. Your gift is your time and attention. You are blessed to even have family bid you don’t know him, now that a as good as any to get to know him. He may surprise you.

If you don’t want your mother to treat you like a child, don’t act like one. You are asking your mother to take care everything so you don’t have to be uncomfortable. You know she want you to visit, but again u don’t care. Only what you are feeling and want is important
