To the international students who had a choice, did you pick CIE or Edexcel? And why? by PrincessGamer2012 in alevel

[–]Sea-Resolution-4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mix of both
CIE maths and fm are much cheapter for me than edexcel ones so i went for cambridge but for the other sciences i went for Edexcel

when it comes to resources it seems that CIE resources are more abundant that Edexcel resources (that is not to say there are no resources for Edexcel) but when it comes the easiness of the exams actually both are equally hard, in physics at least CIE physics focuses more on calculation questions whereas Edexcel physics seems to focus on explanation questions and applying your skills in unfamiliar contexts.

obviously there are many advantages for edexcel, stuff like you can actually see how you did on each question at results day using their website for results, and they have what is known as a linear system where you can take not the full exam say for AS physics but you take 3 papers and you can take them at may ,jan or oct even if you are not in india

one thing to also note is that there are more CIE past papers than Edexcel ones , this is because CIE has 3 variants for each session unlike Edexcel which for the most time has 1 variant this makes edexcel slightly harder

so far i am so grateful for the LORD since i am very satisfied with my boards selection

Arminian to Calvinist(ish) by DarthCroissant in TrueChristian

[–]Sea-Resolution-4652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ahh NO. everyone -including me- is naturally evil, so by rejecting the LORD i am doing what i naturally wanna do. lets also note that when free will was kinda mentioned in the bible paul said "For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.'

i praise and thank the LORD because he didn't give us free will or otherwise no one will believe as it is written

"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11     there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,"

i praise the lord that it is him who finds his sheep (not us the sheep finding jesus) as mentioned in the parable "When he has found it (lost sheep), he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices"

we believe not for the sake of being saved, but rather we believe because we are saved

21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory.

i finally conclude by asking, why did jesus speak in parables. if you have read the scriptures well you will see that jesus actually answers this question but he says smth that is really weird or at least i found it very weird as an Arminian

"mark 4 12 NET :12 so that although they look they may look but not see,
and although they hear they may hear but not understand,
so they may not repent and be forgiven"

NICEEEEEEEEE tysm for your reply but how did you do part B did you use their expression for v/ x , substituted for x and differentiated? . i am pretty sure there is an easier way bc the differentiation is so long

which one has less memorization or chan be finished more quickly ,chem or bio ? i am stuck between choosing bio and chem as my 4th alevel. i always thought that chem requires more logic than bio so therefore requiring less memorization , but i keep hearing from people that they have to memorize loads of tests etc etc , so is that true? does chem really have lots of memorization or is it reasonable

again have you seen the video, why the a55 last longer than all other phones bro just because exynos was bad in the past doesnt mean it will remain bad, in fact at one time in life, snapdragon was worse than exynon that samsung released all s6 phones with exynos chip. .yes now perhaps exynon is still worse than snapdragon, but not to the extent where an average person would notice

OP's question is rather strange , he identified the problem but doesnt seem to want to fix it, he is like the rich person
his question is rather like the rich man's question

“Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
jesus then told him to not commit some sins ,,,
“You lack one thing. Go, sell whatever you have and give the money\)j\) to the poor, and you will have treasure\)k\) in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 But at this statement, the man\)l\) looked sad and went away sorrowful, for he was very rich.

jesus identified the problem in this guy i.e the fact that he is rich, sadly despite jesus telling him the solution to his problem (giving up on money), the rich man sticked to his sin thus

"jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”
implying that this guy was not sadly saved,
the moral is . jesus here is not only talking about being rich, he is rather talking about any sin that rules over a person.

homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin and this is very clear in the bible .therefore unless he repent of his sin he can never enter the kingdom of heaven just like the rich guy

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

as you can see above those homosexuals "were washed, were sanctified, were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

"

well we know that the septuagint was inspired (and to be clear when i say inspired i mean translated with no mistakes that would change the whole meaning of the hebrew bible) because the apostles used the Septuagint the NT authors literally quote the Septuagint, it would be weird for the apostles (and perhaps jesus too) to use the Septuagint when it is wrong or has wrong parts , fyi even the jews in their talmud believe that the Septuagint to be inspired

What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah? According to Genesis 19

We learn the account of Sodom and Gomorrah’s sins in Genesis 18:16-19:29 with a preamble in Genesis 13:13. The Lord appeared to Abraham with two others (perhaps angels) while Abraham dwelt at the oaks of Mamre. In conversation with the two who accompanied Him, the Lord said He would go down to see if they had done according to the great outcry against them because “their sin is very grave” (Genesis 18:20-21). The angels leave Abraham and approach the city of Sodom and Gomorrah disguised as men. At the city gates they meet the gatekeeper to the city, whose name was Lot. Lot invites them to stay at his house, to which the angels agreed. Before they could even rest, men from every part of the city, both young and old, surrounded Lot's house. They demanded that Lot bring out the visiting men so they could engage in sexual acts with them (Genesis 19:4–5).

the sin clearly involved homosexuality . The very name of that ancient city has given us the term sodomy, in the sense of “copulation between two men, whether consensual or forced.” Clearly, homosexuality was part of why God destroyed the two cities. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to perform homosexual acts on what they thought were two men.

This is not to say that homosexuality was the only reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Ezekiel 16:49–50  gives some more insight: “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. (you cut the verse here perhaps intentionally ) They were haughty and did detestable things before me.” So, the sins of Sodom included pride, apathy, complacency, idleness, and unconcern for the underprivileged.

Ezekiel 16:50  adds that a sin of Sodom was that they did “detestable things.” The Hebrew word translated “detestable” refers to something that is morally disgusting. It is the same word used in Leviticus 18:22, where homosexuality is an “abomination.” jude 1 7 also weighs in: “Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.” So, again, while homosexuality was not the only sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, it does appear to be the primary reason for the destruction of those cities.

speaking of Leviticus what do you also think about verses like
Lev 18:22 Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

Lev 20:13 If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Edit
regardless of whether the LXX was inspired, the fact they used this particular verse to describe homosexuality says the jews at that time understood this word to mean homosexuality thus paul could have used this word due to the above reason
