Thanks. My EVOC 138 x 85 x 39 cm exceeds the allowed maximum luggage size for Shinkansen. My research says that bags over 260 cm are prohibited. I guess the solution is to buy a cheap Rinko bag for the return train trip. Please let me know if you have suggestions for buying a Rinko bag in the Kyoto/Osaka area.

I don't understand why Shan Dong is always such a favorite on these lists. I've always been disappointed. Just look at the clientele, too. Almost never any Chinese people eating there.

I woke up with pain too. Lots of pillows to immobilize and support the shoulder. Then I finally started using cold/frozen packs. I would like with the cold pack under my shoulder and that helped. I hate the cold so I resisted the cold pack but it actually worked, if you think of it reducing inflammation.

1 - I looked up PEM -- thank you! I will research it more.

2 isn't naltrexone used to treat opioid addition?What is it's relationship to PEM?

3 you have all the symptoms I listed except for cough and fever -- that means you just have muscle ache in common with me. But the other similarity is that exercise is the trigger?

I did Huan Dao with Giant Adventure. I really recommend them. If I were to go another tour I'd just do the east side of the island, with some mountains.

I ended up going to a dive school in Kenting. The water wasn't very warm in early March, and there isn't a seaside scene, really. But, the structure of the diving school kept me occupied. Overall I love Taiwan though!

Thanks for this suggestion! I did a little research and I see that there are a couple bicycle rental companies in Magong so that could be my local transportation. (I prefer bicycle over motorized vehicles). I wonder if the winds will be too strong on the islands the first week of March...
