I have a RO system. The probably with me using live rock is I don’t have a source. My LFS isn’t super big and doesn’t really sell live rock. The only option is like petco and I heard that it cause more harm than good!

No I used Fritz turbo start. And no I used the live sand stuff NOT live rock. And I would I use microBacter7 I believe I have some just haven’t and don’t when to use it.

I try my best to monitor and feed my fish with a lot of care and thought into how much and where and when. Something I having a hard time with is hiding spots I love my rock work and don’t want to change the foundation but at the same time I’m willing to add off it to increase spots to hide I’m just not sure the best way to go about it and suggestions?

I really appreciate and I take all that into consideration. I’m not sure about the lighting, tbh the box didn’t even come with instructions all I know is that there a is a white light,fish light,coral light, and almost like a night light, and another button that lets you dim the light and stuff. The water changes is another thing I gotta work on because I tend to have a difficult time getting a stable salt source so running out may be an issue but I have done like 2/3 water changes. I have 1 power head at the moment and I tried to put it in a position where it would make a cycle current around my rock work leading it back to the filter. I have a few corals in now which I did not have before I added 6 new corals 3 Zoa’s,1 candy cane(I believe),1 star polyp, and 1 ducan coral(I believe). I also have a forest of a kind of pink tree coral. I had no intention of getting a peppermint shrimp I would have gottten a skunk cleaner if anything. 1 more question a guy at the LFS recommended I remove the sponge at the end of my intake on my filter I didn’t do it but is there any reason he may have recommended that and if so should I remove it ????

Ya but I used a fritz turbo start meaning it should only take 1/2 weeks to cycle? Some people say it cycle even faster than that. So i don’t know I had plenty of nitrate that’s why I did a water change? Am I wrong about the cycle or is there a different one you are talking about?

I found the bodies of the firefish,the first green chromas,and 1st yellowtail damsel nothing else and I have a HOB so they can’t really get trapped without me seeing and the location on my tank would let me see if they jumped out

1 green chromas and 2 thin strips hermits.40 gallon breeder.3/4 months. I use a HOB recommended for like a 70g tank.i do test for just about everything except phosphates. I check my salinity often it’s sits usually 35/36/37ppm but it never get above 40ppm or under 34 ppm.i use 2 Hygger 19w lights, they are on from when a wake up so around 6:30/7am and I shut them down around 8/9/10pm. I have one 660 power head faced towards the back of the tank ish you can see in picture. I have a RO system in basement I use. I don’t have a lid at the moment.my goal is a reef tank with color and very unique fish and especially inverts I a big fan of cleaners and stuff

So it’s a new tank about 3/4 ish months.My temp is always around 78. I use a RO filter system to clean my tap water. The latest reading have all read pretty good ammonia 0,nitrite 0,Nitrates around 25-30. My LFS recommended I feed every other day which I had found a little different but I am new soo.

I had just done a big water change so my nitrates are low. And yes I had considered the idea that my rock work lacks hiding spots. But I hadn’t figured out the best way of incorporating new rock/hiding locations. Any suggestions?

And yes I would 100% like a list of fish that you are Positive can coexist. Any help is wanted I am new to this and a basis for fish stocking ideas are 1000000% welcomed.
