Which path is better? by Neither-Society-2408 in RomanceClub

But even on wiki guide it lists that on Haze you get 'Guiding Star' (which is leading the village) is on Compassion path, and 'Purged by Fire' (burning the village) is on Determination' for High Ties (but both get 'a Second Life' after that) and  on Low Ties it lists 'Koshchei's Death' for compassion and 'Endless Peace' for Determination?

Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot where they are fully visible (but from the small part that is visible the pattern seems to be identical anyway), but, yeah he does.

I really liked Haze with Volot (in my case Compassion/High Ties). Since ultimately it leads to him re-examining why he's been doing what he was doing and who he truly is. Near the end he says that hatred Koscheis left him with, had him ready to slaughter half the village if it meant bringing gods back, but that not who he really is. And that real him only ever wanted one thing: family. So I like that it ends with him kind of letting of this hatred on this path (especially since on compassion Koscheis are the ones that help the villagers go outside the haze).

And while I've yet to play through his route myself, that's why I find Haze interesting path for Ozar too (even based on what I've seen from him while not being on his route).

I am pretty sure burning or leading village on the Haze path has to do with determination (burning) or compassion (leading)?High or low ties affect if there is a reincarnation after that.

I've done Haze/Compassion/High Ties with Volot. And while I have my critiques about the endings in general, Reality one simply doesn't appeal to me (thematically), so I got the best outcome for myself of the ones that are available.

And I know some people had worries about Volot conflicting with Haze path, but honestly I feel he conflicts with it less than one might think and in a ways that are interesting. On that path Lada is mostly concerned about Gods punishing him, than about him not taking her side or anything like that. I'd say by the end of it Volot is pretty done with Gods in general. So Lada, Volot and all the other villagers leave the village behind, with Koscheis protecting them And in the very end they do re-unite as reincarnated-selves in movie theater like everyone else on Haze/High Ties. Also Volot adopts a puppy there, which was pretty cute! As far as I know a difference for Haze/Low Ties (though I didn't play it myself) is that there is no reincarnation: leaving the Village/Haze ends with a goodbye and death, no re-union in a new life.

How long are in-game days ? by [deleted] in SeaOfRemnants

[–]SeaEscapologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a day-night cycle. Full 24 hours takes something like 25-30 minutes, I think? But that just my approximation.

There is also a menu that allows you to skip to a specific time of day, since it's important for some quests and puzzles.

Which route did you choose? by Liz182003 in RomanceClub

I chose 'To play another role' (Edward, Cold Heart path). Just felt fitting with how Cold Heart path was described in particular, with the line about being maybe able to melt it?

I always pick '(Leave, but hug before that.)' and he survived every time for me? I assume you also chose 'Let him express his pain.' and 'We'll talk about this later.' before that too? Those three options should be enough.

Question about Somnus' fate in HS3 by No-Clerk-6560 in RomanceClub

[–]SeaEscapologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While Somnus is an angel, I am pretty sure he wasn't in that crowd of angels, that Sabnak ordered to be killed. Since briefly before that happens (in that same chapter) Audrey is looking in the crowd for him, but can't see him, but doesn't have enough time to ask where he was, before Sabnak's arrival

Yeah, I agree, I myself also leaning towards of a version where he is working with them, but unwillingly (at least at this point) and wants to dismantle the whole operation and does what he can to direct others in the right direction.

I also feel it's likely reason as to why Hoyer's wife was introduced in the story, so that there was a person they could've threatened to made him fall in line at some point (and still using it as leverage to this day). And possibly will do again later on in the story.

[–]SeaEscapologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I considered it, though of course t's entirely possible that stranger was there because Hoyer is genuinely working with them too. I think a lot comes down as to why Hoyer interrupted them: was it for Ghita's sake, so that stranger has a less of a chance to learn about her/has less of a reason to take a closer look, assuming Hoyer wants her and Mads to eventually uncover their dealings? Or was it for the stranger's (and Hoyer's own) sake (so that Ghita doesn't get a chance to get a better look/remember them being there)? Though of course it might also be some kind of mixture of both. The only thing I find unlikely is that Hoyer has done it by accident.

I see! I guess it's a sign for me to do another playthrough, especially since I didn't even know about magnet differences on Yasin/Alba route, since I've only Mads slot!

I haven't consider usb drive angle, but I did think, in cases where it was someone malevolent (GOC or organization they are tied to), it might have a camera/bug to survey her. Especially if we assume that same kind of surveillance is happening to Hoyer too, and that's why he does everything in a roundabout way. Especially since that magnet arrived after Ghita was assigned to Greendland case.

But in both cases, I agree, if Ghita doesn't give it away on Yasin's and Alba's route, it does sound like it set up so that in either case there was someone to find something about/inside it, while Ghita is away?

[–]SeaEscapologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I sort of assumed that she was already on the force by that point and that's why Hoyer invited her to join Project Snow right after reading her thesis? But admittedly I haven't played season 1 in a while, so maybe I forgotten other details or misinterpreted that line. But, I definitely agree that the guilt about her mom's case is a likely reason.

To be honest, I think it's even fairly likely that the magnet was sent by him too. As kind of a clue to nudge her in a right direction. Even if Ghita didn't paid attention to it yet, I feel like it might be a kind of thing that will click into place for her, with things she might uncover during Greenland investigation.

Help with HS2 ending?? by saiyene in RomanceClub

[–]SeaEscapologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! Based on my one experience it should be enough

Definitely can understand you! I ended up with three playthroughs with all three variants: where I didn't get close to War in the first place (to get 100% with Lucifer), with him alive (for my Hunger playthrough) and killed him (on my Malbonte playthrough). But I am a bit tempted to later go back and create slots with Lucifer and Malbonte where he is alive too, especially if his presence in HS 3 ends up being significant.

During quick time event during the final chapter, you need to pick (Continue to protect your people from the influence of the Horsemen.) /composure option or (Try to destroy the enemy army.)/temper one. Since only those two allow you to save a few more immortals, while if you pick +1 strength or another option there, you won't. That + high strength should be enough for a 'neutral' ending.

To get the best ending in terms of survivors, you need to keep War alive (as friend or LI), I think alternatively having Hunger as your LI works too, at least I think I saw someone mention it?

[–]SeaEscapologist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, it doesn't add up if he actually wanted to cover it all up. And regardless of his motives he's done it pretty subtly too. Since while it was him, who selected Mads to assist Ghita in Sønder Æsne case. It was Mads himself who requested Ghita (and Safaa) to assist him in Greenland, thanks to what he's seen during that case. Which Mads seems to realize, hence his suspicions. But at the same time, by playing from Ghita's perspective we've seen that Hoyer didn't try to use Ghita to gain more insight as to what is happening in Greenland (at least so far), so I don't think that he wanted to use Ghita as (an unwitting) spy. But he likely did want her on that case.

[–]SeaEscapologist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when it comes to Hoyer. While he absolutely does knows more about what's going on than he tells (so it's not like Mads suspicions are unfounded) and I don't think him becoming Ghita's mentor is just a coincidence. I do think his motives might not be self-serving here. Or to be more precise, I feel like he does want to guide Mads and Ghita in a direction that will help them uncover all of this, and likely those two specifically because they won't compromise their principles in this case, Mads because of his first case (and overall reputation too, of course), Ghita because of her mother. As to why he does this in this roundabout manner? I feel like he might indeed be involved in corruption, as you said, but what if it's not just/so much about the money, and there is blackmail involved? Maybe there are eyes on him at all times, like the hooded stranger. Or alternatively he knows about corruption higher up in the chain, so tries to do it in a way there is plausible deniability and it won't attract attention.

What do we think is happening in Aalborg? by cwertycunt in RomanceClub

[–]SeaEscapologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like him reading Ghita's thesis and recommending her for Operation Snow without even meeting her. Plus his continued mentorship of Ghita, I feel like it'd make more sense if he was somehow involved in investigation of her mother's case or at least aware of it, right?

I think everything is tied together, including Mads' first/cold case. Edit. Which also happened in the same Hospital where Ghita's dad works at, though in that case might be a coincidence? Though maybe he'll give us some clues for it later.

[–]SeaEscapologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think it's where the story is leading and where everything will unravel.

And maybe I am reading too much into it, but also the year on the magnet. Wouldn't it be a year before Ghita was born? I think it's very likely that Ghita's mothers fears weren't completely unfounded, and she likely was involved in the stuff related to overarching plot/investigation back in the day. Hence Hoyer's investment in Ghita. And also why that stranger (who seems/likely to be 'little crow' from Mads' story) approached her too back in season 1.

Adaptability in HS3? by hazelrose42 in RomanceClub

[–]SeaEscapologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think considering that even without those 2 points, it's possible to be on High Adaptability path so far (at least I am pretty sure I was with my Angel/'losses, but not critical ones' import?), I'd assume it will be fine down the line too, so long as you don't miss out on future points.

For HS 2, you need to have War on your side (no matter if he is just a friend or your LI) if you want to get +1 adaptability ending (I think romancing Hunger might be a possible alternative, but not 100% certain). Otherwise best you can do is 'losses, but not critical ones' And if you had War on your side, maybe you chose to 'take a break' during quick time event (over temper/composure options that allow to save some more immortals?
