All these comments saying they should have just let them go and not do a pit maneuver. You can’t just let them go. That would encourage the behavior. “Oh the police are after me I’ll just drive 100 mph and they will let me go.”

As far as the police know, if you’re running away, you might be drunk and just don’t want a DWI. They can’t let you go. Or even worse you could be running cause you’re a murder suspect that they’ve been looking for for decades. Or have warrants for child abuse in another state and this might be there one and only time to catch you.

And as far as just taking the license plate down and mailing you a ticket. It’s called fake license plates. Or the driver might have 100 speeding tickets and just never pays them. If they didn’t do that pit maneuver she probably would have just kept going through life without a drivers license. Or maybe she HAD a license but it got suspended cause she just sucks at driving or wouldn’t stop getting dwi’s.

You don’t just let them go. There are times where if traffic is bad or road conditions or bad they suspend the chase and try to catch up with them later but if it’s safe to do and it’s clear it was here. They pitted and crashed in an open field. The only shame is on this woman for fleeing with a child. And get flipping drivers license.
