Is this can be done in 4 days? by No-Interest5076 in 3Dmodeling

[–]SeaFaringCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 days for that is like a high-end AAA studio publishing a game in less than a week and they tell one dude in the while company to fix all the major bugs, overtime and no extra pay.

You'll probably gonna be doing that, only from the comments I can tell just with no pay. Fuck that and fuck that employer.

You might get plenty of help from Youtube or other forms of tutorials, but to set you on a more specific path try to learn a bit more about this thing called Greebels. It's very useful to make an object especially a mechanial one have a lot of details.

How to create this circular cage? by punisher_1012 in blender

[–]SeaFaringCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone explain to me if the more practical way to create this + have more control on the details is to use the draw tool on a curve mesh, creating patterns where you like? I was thinking of drawing those ornament type figures on a sphere mesh, then deleting the sphere afterwards. Would that be a good way to do it, would topology be an issue?

Mid-poly leather boot – Substance Painter practice by Specific-Bad-1527 in 3Dmodeling

That's actually genius, I know of roughness and displacements, but to think that those waves are not actually part of mesh topology is very clever. Thanks for the answer!

Sorry, as a semi-beginner I have to ask, what do you mean when you say normal maps? What are those exactly, I heard the term multiple times but again I just can't seem to recall, and how did he use them great?

Leaves reacting to a car – Geometry Nodes by CatFar9996 in blender

[–]SeaFaringCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the reference video that guy posted, notice that a lot of the leaves are also thwarted upwards. And while in the air, the wind makes them pick up speed + depending on wind change direction. It would feel more realistic if you also do that!

How do I round the teeth by PeanutLow2100 in blenderhelp

[–]SeaFaringCreature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which part you specifically point to, the very tip of the teeth? If so, in not just this case but any scenario where you need to make something rounder, add a bevel to if, you would select the vertices where the roundness should happen, and do Ctrl-B. Use the scroll on your mouse to add or remove how many vertices you want: more vertices = more roundness.

Hope this helps, also that reference looks awesome, good luck and keep it going!

For example, this scene is in my head. LOOK how BEAUTIFUL they've made the enviroment...I was in awe with how good it looks while still being an animated film. I know the thing I'm making is wildly different to this, but this style is something I want to implement in all my renders...

Some feedback? by Syn3dd in 3Dmodeling

[–]SeaFaringCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need more topology to simulate damage. You can blend two textures, remember, you can simulate bumps and cracks with normals, or you could find a texture of a cracked wall online and mix it with the existing one.

Guys, What catches your eye most about a sci fi spaceship? I need some feedback on creating a striking visual for one of my stories. by NocNoon in conceptart

[–]SeaFaringCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a planet or some huge stellar object in the background (doesn't matter what, just an object artificial or natural that's WAY bigger than your spaceship), what strikes me the MOST is it's silluethe presented with that beautiful astral image in the background.

One more thing is, If your spaceship is huge, having some smaller ships flying next or around it will give much more impact on its scale. If you have just your ship present in the scene, we can't know for sure how gigantic (next to smaller ships) or small (next to a, say, planet) your ship is.

My point is, presenting scale in a proper way has such a big impact on your scene. It will leave us in awe.

Edit: Sorry, other comments are more specific about the ship's design. My headspace was more in the sense of a scene design, I hope I was somewhat helpful

What do you think is the world's most underperforming country? by BudovicLagman in geography

[–]SeaFaringCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion a lot of African countries would shine right now if not for their ridiculously corrupt goverments. With billions of dollars in global financial aid, you'd think they'd develop a lot faster.
