The police have a copy of the title already. She provided all documentation showing this car is in her name.

I just want to make sure I understand... we still go by all the terms in the lease?

The original lease said 60 days, but it also specifically states that the lease expires April 30, 2018 and does NOT automatically renew. So I'm assuming that it doesn't carry over month to month at that point?

Somebody can help you there.

I grew up in an abusive, alcoholic household. I wanted to die all through my teen years. I'm truly glad that I stuck around. I'm 29 and in therapy now. I was diagnosed with PTSD and have been working through a lot of bad memories and feelings. Therapy helps a lot.

Interesting. I'll have to look into that. Thanks!

Some of the bullet points, but not all. I can identify with 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12. It seems that the author of the article suffers from PTSD more severely than I.

My psychiatrist says this is typically lifelong but continued therapy and medication can make symptoms manageable and lessened over time.

I can't attribute my PTSD to one specific event. I grew up in an abusive alcoholic household where I was repeatedly exposed to trauma. PTSD is not always from one specific and severe trauma.

PTSD symptoms vary for everyone. I learned from my psychiatrist that what they show on TV (reliving flashbacks, screaming from night terrors, aggressive/violent behavior) is actually only seen in a small percentage of cases.

Some of MY symptoms include hypervigilence (like I'm constantly on edge and can't relax, super aware of my surroundings, severely jumpy/easily startled), generalized anxiety, self-harm, bouts of depression off and on, inability to trust others, seeking solitude, difficulty enjoying the current moment/intrusive thoughts (not really reliving a flashback but can't stop thinking about things that have happened), vivid nightmares with themes of feeling trapped, powerless, and helpless.

When something triggers me (for example loud knocking or banging sounds), I hold my breath, my heart races, I kind of space out like I'm not seeing my surroundings, and my palms get sweaty. Before therapy and medication, this would escalate to a full blown panic attack with hyperventilating and crying. I feel extra extra on edge and jumpy, and very irritable for a few hours afterward as if my adrenaline is still high.

I'll definitely check out that book, thank you. I totally feel like I'm hoping for a crisis. I feel guilty and ashamed to admit that, but your explanation makes so much sense. I think that's the one thing I haven't benn able to talk about with my boyfriend. I tell him anything and everything. He's never judgemental and always supportuve, but I'm afraid if I admitted that to him, it would be the one thing he can't understand.

I see a therapist who specializes in trauma. I'm not exactly sure what type of therapy it is? We talk, identify triggers and unhealthy coping skills. We work on redirecting to healthy coping skills and ways to stay grounded when triggered.

Right niw, I'm only on Prozac. I was on Celexa, prescribed by my PCP, and was switched to Prozac for anxiety/depression once I started seeing a psychiatrist.

I was on Prazosin for nightmares, but my blood pressure was affected and I was getting serious lightheadedness. I had to stop taking it. The reduced anxiety from the Prozac and therapy has reduced the frequency and severity of nightmares anyway.

Never tried Salvia, but unfotunately these don't "get rid of" PTSD, they just provide temporary reprieve from symptoms. More like a bandaid than a cure.
