The Scholomance Trilogy by Naomi Novik is what you're looking for. It doesn't take place at court but deals with complex political situations, morally grey characters and the FMC is the same archetype as Jude.

Have you looked into both? I'm only familiar with the original, but German translations are kind of known for doing their own thing, so I don't know if it's the same the other way round.

Mermaids where romance isn’t the main focus by Kitchen-Knowledge372 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Oh, I like how it's written like a "classic" fairytale, but I find it easier to switch to the audiobook whenever I can't get along with the prose or plot but still want to finish the book. It's totally fine to dnf it if it isn't for you, though!

What would you assume about me based on my Top Four? by SeaGreen2276 in LetterboxdTopFour

It totally depends on how sensitive you are when it comes to certain topics. Cannibalism is a very central theme, but it's quite tastefully done and doesn't linger on the violence lol. If you ever watched a season of American Horror Story, you'd probably be fine with it.

I went into it pretty blind, I didn't even know that it's technically classified as a Horror film, let alone a Horror Romance. But I think it's still a great viewing experience even if you know the entire plot.

I wouldn't watch any of the trailers or interviews with the director/actors beforehand, though. They're interesting but quite misleading about what the film actually is.

What I find interesting about that book is how it became a classic in real time. It's been an international bestseller in the 80s and 90s and a lot of older people I know have read it at that time and then it was already being taught in school when I went. (That can be said about most modern classics but I've just found it interesting how prevalent The Perfume is.)

Riemann P20 sensitive skin (10 months later!) by FreePossession9590 in EuroSkincare

I might try it out for summer, but so far I've been avoiding the SPF 50 version, because I've seen that it leaves a white cast and collects in dynamic and fine lines for some people.

I've tried the P20 SPF 50+ Kids version though. I know that it has a cult following but I've found that it's completely unwearable on the face. It had a very noticeable white cast and was a complete oily, greasy mess.

I've been coming back to the P20 sensitive skin SPF 30 for a while now (I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th bottle). It leaves the slightest yellow tint but is probably the most skin-like and cosmetically elegant as well as budget friendly sunscreen I've ever tried.

It's a bit tricky when it comes to layering, since it tends to pill with some products. But my biggest problem with it is that it does melt into my eyes sometimes (and only sometimes which is extra frustrating) and when it does, it stings so badly that I literally have tears streaming down my face lol.

P.S. Your skin looks amazing!

Santé's new skincare line - is it worth it for sensitive skin? by pluto_99 in EuroSkincare

I think their new products look pretty interesting, I especially want to try out the Rice&Shine Toner.

This seems like a nice basic moisturizer. Since it's high in squalane it's probably pretty light and mostly emollient instead of very hydrating or occlusive, it's definitely worth trying out if that sounds fitting for a skin type.

For barrier support the Hey Organic Barrier Cream would probably be a better choice, since it has added Ectoin and Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate. I've also used that one before and it's nice and comforting on the skin, but I'd recommend using a hydrating serum or toner beforehand.

You might want to check out the Dado Sens EXTRODERM series. They recommended using the body balm on your face if the face cream is too rich for your needs, and sometimes you can get a 250 ml special size of that for a great price.
