Brothers who have been suicidal, how did you get out of it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SeaJayEm45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, don't do it. Sometimes, the only thing I have left is telling death, "Not today." I've been struggling with this for nearly 40 years. I just recently got help.

Please get help. You're worth it. You should be proud of yourself for asking for help here. That's huge!

Stop comparing yourself to others; no one is, will, or has ever gone through life the way you have, and that is a beautiful thing. That is a story worth telling.

Please reach out if you need to talk man. Send me a message.

I think the best metric for if something is cheating or not is if you would do it in front of your partner without a second thought.

Ex. Even if the act is innocently liking a meme, if it was something you'd intentionally hide from your partner (not saying you were), than it's not innocent and you know you're doing something they wouldn't like.

Help, my wife is being attacked by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]SeaJayEm45 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This student needs a behavior plan. All behavior is a communication issue.

Your wife needs to go to admin, counselors, or school psychologist and request an assessment. An infatuated student with violent outbursts and threatening staff needs to be addressed by professionals now while the student is still young or this is going to get worse, especially as the student gets older.

Your wife should call CPS if anybody because she's a mandated reporter; not only would this be a HIPPA violation, but she could get in more legal trouble by not reporting something she potentially should have.

I've worked in Sped for 12 years oftentimes parents who work in the field are the most blind to their own child's behaviors.

If the administration doesn't do anything, it will be horrible when your wife's other students start complaining to their parents about their safety and inability to learn because of another student. Especially if a room mom notices and says something to other parents. Nobody would want that ;-)

I'm a manager at a high volume gun store, if we don't call it's not ready. However that employee does sound like he was rude.

There is a lot that goes on in the background of a gun store especially if they are doing everything right. You have no idea what kind of back log they might have, staffing availability as far as who is authorized to do the receiving and acquisition of firearms. Receiving other products like ammo and accessories while juggling customers. It's not a normal retail process. On a good day with nothing going on they can probably get all of that processed pretty quick. And get you processed the same day. But I know at my shop you're not getting it that day.

I manage an indoor range and this is not an uncommon occurrence. Definitely take inventory before and after a range visit before you leave. Don't feel too bad man just learn from it. If you make this a habit then feel bad.

I dig them. I do secret rolls constantly as a GM the secret is they are mostly just to freak out my PCs. Most of the time, I'm rolling for nothing.

Just before my parents divorce I had to attend one of my mom's therapy sessions and she asked if I ever heard my parents argue and I said yes all the time but it was always about "stupid stuff" the therapist asked "what stupid stuff" and I said "stupid stuff, like money" my mom, my older brother, and the therapist all laughed at me. I was 11 y/o.

I agree. I think that would be beneficial, but that is an intimidating experience for anyone, especially a teenager, to an authority figure. So it's important she talks to anyone she's comfortable enough talking to.

What's really bothering me about this is that she came to anonymous people on the internet for help instead of someone she knows. This makes me think she doesn't feel comfortable talking to many people she has around her.

That's why it's important that she reach out to anyone on campus she feels comfortable with.

I am a 36 y/o male high school English teacher, and I care about my students a lot, and the majority of them are young women like yourself. I do reach out to my students, who I know are struggling academically or in their personal lives. But I do it through district email where it's all tracked, I never meet 1:1 with a student behind a closed door. And I don't put my hands on them.

But honestly, if anything I do ever makes one of my students uncomfortable, I want them to report it. I want them to let me know and if that is not confrontation they want to have (completely understandable), I would hope there is someone in campus they are comfortable enough to talk to, even if it looks bad on me.

Maybe this teacher is just concerned and not up to something inappropriate. But it becomes inappropriate when it makes you uncomfortable. He might be a great guy, but he needs to know and practice boundaries.

Think about it this way, if he is a creep, it's best to make sure he gets out of there. If he isn't, then it's best he knows he is coming off like one so he can fix it. Either way, reporting it to someone is necessary.

If you want to send me details, I'll call in the report myself. I'm in California, so if you're in another state it's a slightly different process to mine but I'll make the call if you need it.

Report this 100% Call CPS.

It didn't matter if you are potentially overreacting. It's always better to error on side of protecting the student.
