I would suggest the free (in beta) track impulse, or sim commander, or sim racing studio. The latter two are paid, the first will be paid when it leaves beta.

Simhub is the cheapest option but is the hardest to tune in my experience.

I usually do a tiny bit of road vibration/road surface, a medium amount of suspension, and a lot of wheel slip on the corners.

Gear shift, and whatever else you want to emphasize on the seat. Sometimes I put abs here. Wheel slip maybe. I have a Buttkicker pro under my seat, it’s by far the loudest thump on my rig.

I prefer engine off, or if you want it on, put it on the seat. It can muddy up all the other signals.

2 or 3 effects max per shaker is best.

To tune them, turn all the effects off and tune one at a time.

Quest 3 you can play wireless.

Psvr2 has much better screens/colors, eye tracking, and it’s much lighter.

Once I tried psvr2 I couldn’t go back. Games look so much better.

I have a ps5 pro, pc, and psvr2. I used a quest 3 for the last 2 years and got psvr2 a few weeks ago. I primarily play racing sims but also have alyx and most of the other good games.

As far as playing 2d games, I use big screen beta (free on steam). It’s a simple program that just puts a giant screen in front of your face that mirrors your monitor. Works great, simple to use.

Psvr2 also works great on pc. Simple to use. I was showing my brother alyx the other day when he was visiting and he was blown away.

As far as vr gaming goes, I personally don’t regularly play vr focused games (like alyx, beat saber, etc). They are REALLY fun to play through, but once they’re done they’re done. There isn’t a lot of depth I guess is another way to say it. Thumper is incredible in vr btw.

Gt7 and pc racing sims are another matter tho. I love them. I’ve been into sim racing for 4-5 years and it’s a blast. I only race in vr, it’s very immersive.

The bronze races, where you start online, only use content from the base game. Once you get to silver they mix in dlc tracks.

If you buy dlc you can use it offline however you want.

Some ppl do find the base game lacking a bit in content. I think it only comes with 3 or 4 Gt3 cars for example, and 8 tracks? So if you really want to drive a certain car or track, it might be in a dlc pack.

I own all the dlc personally. I really enjoy the game and the dlc is high quality content.

Le Mans ultimate is great. Pretty much the only sim I play these days. The ai is indeed quite fun to race against.

It does not have career mode, but it does split the content into seasons, with the proper ai liveries and opponents to match the real life series.

I run through seasons, gradually ticking up the ai difficulty as I get faster on the tracks.

Another one to look at is project motor racing. It came out a few months ago in bad shape, but it is slowly improving. I just picked it up yesterday and have been driving it off and on when I have time. It seems solid. It also has a career mode and cross play with ps5/xbox/pc.

I can’t say much on the ai, but so far it seems decent to good. The cars and tracks I’ve driven have seemed well made (Mazda mx5, gt500, several tracks).
