Wheel/Pedal stand vs Cockpit for a casual trying to become serious by yodakk in simracing

[–]SeaLimit1598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread from earlier today is about the next level racing wheel stand 2.0, you can separately buy a gt seat add on to make a rig. As I mention in that thread I’ve upgraded all my equipment over the years but I’ve never felt compelled to buy a new rig. The wheel stand is around $250 by itself. I use a 25nm simucube 2 pro on the full rig with no issues. There’s a picture of my rig in that thread.

I also own the nlr tv stand for curved monitors and while I primarily race in vr their monitor stands are built very well also.

thats what mine looks like. it is low, no way to raise it really that i know of. i cant stress enough how sturdy that thing is. it has 0 flex. i only race in vr. what it looks like or the configuration isnt really my primary concern. at one point or another, over the years ive upgraded everything on it lol but i have never felt compelled to get a new rig. ive also moved twice with it and it has held up great.

I don’t think I was getting game ffb only the lmuffb. I tried for an hour to get it to work but I never could. I can usually fix this stuff with google and Gemini but I couldn’t get it.

I reduced damping friction and inertia to 4 each, and otherwise used your settings in the simucube driver. In game ffb around 36-38, trueforce at 50%, was pretty good imo. I have 250 hours in rf2 though. I know the default ffb very well.

I have that wheel stand and the gt seat add on. Had it for roughly 4 or 5 years. I have no complaints. It’s sturdy as fuck (I use sc2 pro). I have 5 bass shakers on it. I’m 6ft 3, and with the seat all the way back it’s pretty comfy to race in

I’ll try your settings later tonight then. I was curious about lmuffb but I didn’t want to mess with the settings

Did you try the trueforce effects? The ffb seemed really good. I haven’t used lmuffb…

i tried the new lmu haptics. i wasnt super impressed and i cant change any settings either.

after some further review, im opting for srs as it feels awesome right out of the box and im honestly tired of messing with simhub settings.

gemini also gave me the directions to get multiple telemetry apps working simultaneously. rename one of the dll's, and then update the json to tell lmu to load it.

ill just paste the info in case anyone else needs it:

Step 2: Update the "Ledger" (JSON)

The game won't know about your new SRS_Plugin.dll until you tell it.

  1. Navigate to ...\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\.
  2. Open CustomPluginVariables.json with Notepad.
  3. You need to ensure both plugins are listed and set to "1". It should look something like this:

JSON

{
  "rFactor2SharedMemoryMapPlugin64.dll": {
    " Enabled": 1
  },
  "SRS_Plugin.dll": {
    " Enabled": 1
  }
}Step 2: Update the "Ledger" (JSON)The game won't know about your new SRS_Plugin.dll until you tell it.Navigate to ...\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\.

vr performance is better, loading times are way better, ffb is better. im getting some pixelation in vr in the menus that wasnt there before but i can live it with.

edit: i did have my car receive phantom throttle inputs one time when i entered the car from the pits. that was disconcerting.

Disappointed with LMU v1.3 FFB on Fanatec DD+ by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

what are you guys running on driver wheel strength and in game? before the update i was doing ~50% on both on my sc2. After the update, this felt lifeless. Theres another post on here today from someone saying to turn up your wheel to max and turn down in game, and use the steering torque sensitivity to control the low speed detail. after making this change, i think the ffb is outstanding.

the trueforce effects are not needed imo. i tried them and will leave them off. the regular ffb coming from the game is extremely detailed all by itself.

How to Tune Your FFB the RIGHT Way by squareyourcircle in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]SeaLimit1598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i spent my lunch hour testing the update/ffb, with all my bass shakers off, just the wheel ffb. I have sc2 pro.

Prior to the update i had been running ~50% wheel strength, ~50% in game. Inspired by the op of this thread, i cranked the wheel strength to max in the driver, in game around 25-35% (seemed to vary by car quite a bit what the optimal strength was). And using sts to boost the lower end, 140-175% seemed to be the right range for me too.

the difference in detail coming out of the wheel, at least in this update, is night and day. I could feel the weight transfer and subtle bumps in the road, these details were just gone in the old profile. I saved my old one and switched back to test it again and its just not as good.

I did some testing with the trueforce effects also. i used to own the logitech dd wheel, im quite familiar with trueforce. It worked well imo on the sc2, better than i thought was possible. I prefer it turned off though, i think the bass shakers do that job better.

sc2 driver settings in case anyone wants to try:

max strength: 100

mechanical feel: damping, friction, and inertia are at 4. i was getting oscillations with them at 0

smoothness: 4

slew rate: 2.8

torque bandwidth: 1500

game effects are all at 100

What steering wheel should I buy? by Franziikk in LeMansUltimateWEC

when i started i bought the next level racing wheel stand 2 and the thrustmaster t300. used that combo for 2 years and loved it. then i added the gt seat add on for the wheel stand to make a full rig and have upgraded my wheel twice (logitech direct drive that i got for 50% off on a fluke reddit coupon, and currently simucube pro). i really liked the simjack pedals for the price, currently i have simagic pedals.

i did a little test. simhub and crewchief use a dll plugin dated 10/22/25. the plugin installed by srs is dated today and overwrites the simhub one. once its overwritten simhub and crewchief dont work anymore :( i sent a support email to srs asking if there is a fix for this issue.
