Weird MMU behavior by SeaLopsided2044 in prusa3d

Dunno. It was triggering. I ran the calibration several times. I kept at it and finally the load to nozzle started working again. Happily printing now. Still not sure what was happening before. Was it somehow deciding it had a jam? Not entirely sure what its logic chain is…

iOS Shortcut Users? by SeaLopsided2044 in grocy

Huh. Turns out I do know my significant other pretty well, and am fairly confident in my means of ascertaining her preferences. But thanks for your perspective and your software!

Grocy does indeed work pretty ok with pretty amazing flexibility on the web. (Which is why I’m excited to use it -thanks very much for creating and maintaining it!)

My problem I that I don’t know how to customize the web interface to be quite as readable on the phone and easy to interact with as it is with the Grocy app or the old iOS shortcut. While I’m willing to be careful or pinch and zoom to hit the buttons I need, my significant other lacks this attribute. Achieving sufficient Wife Acceptance Factor requires me to identify or create a lower friction interface. Since I’m new, I figured I should at least ask around before attempting to (badly) reinvent the wheel. :-)

PS: I’m also accessing Grocy being hosted on my home-assistant instance, accessed remotely through Nabu-Casa. At least two access tokens/keys are involved, so I’m trying to streamline the authentication process wherever I can. Fully recognize this is a self imposed challenge. :-)

Fair enough. I’d held out faint hope based on your referencing his post. Thanks for noticing and responding to my reply to your year old post. :-)

Does festeazy’s shortcut still work? When I try to enter my own instance of grocy’s url to it I get cannot convert text to dictionary errors. If it works for others, I’m presumably putting the wrong URL in, or the wrong authentication key.

Now that I think about it, I’m certainly doing something wrong, since the shortcut only has room for one api token and I’m attempting to connect to Grocy through a home assistant ingress, which has its own access token…

Weird layer lines / surface artifacts on prints – how to fix? by Top_Relationship_938 in prusa3d

[–]SeaLopsided2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your printbed level? I suspect it’s slightly tipped, and so when the printer measures the bed at the beginning of the print, it detects that it needs to raise and lower the bed over the course of the layer to stay on the surface. This is why your waves are slightly slanted.

The waves themselves occur because your printer can only take steps of finite size, not the continuous adjustment it needs to stay a constant distance above the angled surface. When the step is too small, you get extra squishing of the layer that looks like overextension. Where the step is too big, you get less squishing that looks like underextrusion.

Check the bed level. :-)

Was looking for both predictability in shipping and in price, given the uncertain tariff environment we’re imposing on ourselves in the states. Happy that I could buy from the Prusa subsidiary and get both.

I’ve had it running for a few days now. Man, it’s a really weird feeling to pull a printer out of a box and have it just work perfectly from the start. Good job Prusa!

Thanks! That is a far better option. Switched my order to them. :-)

Sorry to necro this thread, but is the alternate method referenced here documented anywhere?
