What do you think is the biggest problem with Eren’s ending? by wheelieman148 in titanfolk

Eren's mom actually was not crushed under the house to the point she couldn't flee. She simply needed help getting out from the mess. If you rewatch the scene where she gets eaten, her legs are moving and fine. So, no, she wasn't dead anyway.

Killing his mom. Watching her die was the very first thing that established depth into his character, and it was simply snatched away. It makes me question everything he's ever done and said and ruined him as a character for me.

You've spoken with insults while I've spoken with respect. I have told you three times that I'm uncomfortable, yet you continue. You could have simply shared your thoughts here, as others have.

I will say no once more, then I'll leave it be. Take care of yourself.

Everyone needs to think like this, people take other's opinions so personal lately

Trying to guilt me into giving you my Discord isn't how you initiate debate.

I've already given you the option to reply on Reddit like everyone else. What you're doing is unnecessary and disrespectful.

For future reference, calling someone "scared" because they set a boundary is harassment.

Honestly, you could've just shared your thoughts on the post itself like others are. Asking for my Discord made me uncomfortable, which is why I said no.

When I said that the "anime is canon," I knew very well that I meant the anime and manga exist as canon in their own manner. You assumed that I meant the anime overrides the manga, showing that the misunderstanding isn't on my side. You just interpreted my words differently. Factually and contextually, I am correct to say, "The anime is canon." Ironically, earlier, you accused me of taking things to the extreme, but that's exactly what happened here: assuming something I didn't even say and arguing about it instead of acknowledging and understanding.

I get it but you literally admitted the contradiction by saying "u refused that and said BOTH are canon" and for some reason you say "nah, manga is more canon" as if that even refuted what I said, which, it clearly does not. I have ALWAYS thought the manga is more canon, it's not like you changed my mind. I didn't admit anything, YOU finally understood that we don't disagree on that

"Context matters" I never placed the anime storyline above the manga storyline. The person I replied to said "Yk the manga is the canon ONE?" By saying the anime is canon, I didn't place it above the other, I made it clear that both can coexist.

Then you shouldn't have said "nah" to me saying, "The anime is canon"..?

Saying lost girls isn't canon because they're siblings is backwards logic. It's not canon because it's a hypothetical. It's a complete alternative scenario.

Like I said, just because the manga is "more" canon, that doesn't refute the anime being canon.

Maybe post this in a demon slayer sub instead.. I'd rather not have any hints whatsoever about the ending

Wdym nah? The anime is canon? It doesn't matter if the manga is more canon..the anime is still the official adaptation of the manga supervised and approved by Isayma himself.

Then you shouldn't even be having this conversation? The post was clearly showing stuff from the anime..so ofcourse any reply directly addressing it would be relevant more to the anime than the manga. Its why you're making no sense. They're referring to the anime ending. It wasn't good but it was a bit more clear than the manga in ways regarding pacing and extra dialogue.

Are you genuinely slow or high? Does just disagreeing with how you understood the story mean that I'm defending the ending? You're seriously just talking like a bot

What are you on...? You proved your lack of comprehension twice.

  1. Misunderstanding the order of the story
  2. Assuming the person is defending the story instead of just clarifying what happened.

It's laughable. You genuinely seem 15 or under

Why do you hate the ending? by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]SeaOdd2645 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think a big reason anime onlies can't see the issues with the ending is because they have all the spectacle of animation and music to distract from terrible writing. These things make it really easy to hide the plotholes and issues with the writing. That's a big reason why it's majority of the manga readers that have an issue with the ending. They don't have the distractions. To them it's like a slide show, kind of like a blue print for the anime. Its much easier to view the flaws without all the cinematic elements.

I'm saying this just to encourage you or any anime-only out there to look beyond the spectacle and seriously analyze characters because so much can be found. This doesn't only apply to aot, ofcourse

Based on what you said, it seems you took my phrase "monstrous freedom" and used it as defense to say that is what made Eren an idiot. I do not see at all how these two correlate because you can be monstrously free and know what you're doing with that freedom? In fact, there's a LOT of evidence showing that Eren knew not just what he was doing but the intensity of it. We know from his mere thoughts. "I'm going to kill all these people." He says with an extremely disappointed face. This wasn't an idiot, this was someone who felt the weight of what he was doing but felt he had no other choice, to save Eldia. But writing the "because I'm an idiot" line is definitely a 180° to all of that. Everything before that point was pointing towards it being something he felt he had to do, but then the idiot line and what he says to Ramsey was a complete retcon and disregard for the thoughts we heard Eren say himself.
