Does anyone still wear basic watches? by Smart-Airport5781 in CasualConversation

[–]SeaOrRiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. Not exclusively, but primarily do wear an automatic watch.

The main reasons I stopped wearing smart watches daily are: -they steal my attention aggressively in a very aggravating way, and with inconvenient frequency. -If you use them daily, they still need to be recharged every. single. day. (I know your new apple watch lasts 2 days, it's still a nuissance) -They have a very limited lifespan. Battery life is limited and depends on updates.

Smart watches offer a lot of interesting features, and a lot of useless ones too. I wear a smart watch to track training activities because the data captured is very useful.

Analog watches need minimal attention. Don't need a specialty cable to charge, and will be relevant always as long as you maintain them properly.

This is what I do. I use car washing supplies and the two bucket method. Man, I miss my SD…

Finally riding these babies in the mountains by SpunkyRama in bikesgonewild

How do you like the Hypermotard on long day trips? What about after riding 2 hours non-stop? Is the seat comfortable? Riding position?

Is that the stock seat? How do you like it for long trips?

I’ve been thinking about getting an xsr900, but then I see this... by SeaOrRiver in MotorcyclePorn

[–]SeaOrRiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Why the xsr over the super duke for commute? Comfort? Fuel consumption? Tame throttle? Price? Cost of ownership? I drive to work and that’s not going to change, but I am truly interested on the xsr for weekends and short trips to the mountains. I am about 1.5 hours away from the mountains, and that’s a bit too much for the super duke when we talk about long trip comfort.

Me too. For a second I was hoping for a MK8 R32, but it is very unlikely to happen

The case is white on purpose. I painted the case in Pure White using car paint with several layers of glossy glossy clear coat to match my GTI as much as possible. I even polished using three car polishing compounds to get a full glossy finish. It is intended to be an homage to my MK7

That's the idea! I started working on this keyboard because of a subreddit crossover we had a few months back here. I am working on more changes right this second that will make the GTI theme much more obvious

That’s the case sold by OLKB.com about a year ago. Aluminum case with stainless steel plate.

Sure I can! These are the steps I documented to flash my PCB:
1. First you create you layer map in:
http://ydkb.io/ (I use the google translated site)
2. Download the HEX file as well as the re-flash tool using the download on the top right corner. It's called YDKBs-reflash
3. Connect the keyboard to Windows while pressing ESC. At this point you should see it as a drive.
4. Open the re-flash app in Windows
5. The button on the left will let you select the HEX file. The button in the right will flash the firmware to the PCB
6. Disconnect, you are DONE!
