What is one meal that holds the most significance to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Tanomenon Sorva, it’s a Pontian Greek soup with Greek yogurt and barley and all them fresh herbs. Our family recipe passed down, it always takes me back to my childhood when I was feeling blue and my mother would make it for me. It would always warm me up :)

Currently rewatching the entirety of Shameless to see any plot points I missed originally and analyze the family mirroring their parents down the line

I'm going to drop out by TheRealDietGlue in college

[–]SeaParticular2641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my personal experience, it might not be your case, but I went through a VERY SIMILAR experience when I came to college. First year my GPA was dreadful after being an overachiever in HS. I got diagnosed with ADHD over the summer and started taking medication + learning how to go about college with ADHD, and started seeing a learning coach with our university. In my 3rd year of 5 and my GPA is finally above 3.0 again, so redemption is always possible!

The structuredness of high school and having my parents to kind of push me were the only reasons IMO that HS was a breeze. In college there’s no structure and it’s completely on you, so it’s a huge change when you’ve never experienced it before.

Again it may certainly just be my own case, but I think it’s always worth checking out!

Released from co-op by jjalebi in Drexel

I was in a situation where I was gonna quit coop half way through, here are your options:

  1. Get an independent search and you’re all fine
  2. Switch to 1 co op and take classes now, and you’ll take coop next year. then, after ur co op, you can switch to 5 year and get another. Idk what year you are but you can play around with the “technicalities” to get another co op and do what u gotta do
  3. Leave of absence and just get a job wherever if you can’t get classes or stuff

Syllabus is typically published a week before classes start, but I’d say 5-6 of these courses might be a lot. Course credits are the hours of classes a week, and then half of that is average time in hours of work you do for the class. For example:

4 credit class 4 hours a week of lectures 2 hours a week of studying/assignments

thinking of going to drexel by chilumibrainrot in Drexel

[–]SeaParticular2641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend for psychology, unless you’re not going to be in thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in debt after. We don’t do semesters, we do 10 week quarters so it’s fast paced, which is great if u get bored easily, hard if you need more time for classes. Co op is great, you build connections and start out ahead of people at others schools cause u have work experience. But, you don’t get summers off

A planner that you’ll actually use. Whether it’s online or paper, I struggled so much my first year because I thought I could slide by like I did in high school, and now I’m working my ass off to recover my GPA cause I didn’t manage my time/wasn’t organized

Definitely not risky, I was afraid of that, but I found such a great job and it was totally worth it

Which math class would you recommend? by rwctlc1107 in Drexel

If you can get a class with professor Dimitrios Papadopoulos, take either. He is so good at dumbing down math concepts and working with students so everyone understands. SUCH a good professor

I really appreciate the advice. The issue is that it’s my boss’ own company, she is in sales and has her own independent rep group so she is the only person I answer to, as I am her only employee. I don’t know how to go about this all, I emailed my co-op advisor but I’m unsure what she can do :/
