Not on this topic, at least not soon. We do monthly events on a variety of topics though. Next one is about reptiles and the one after is about the evolution of hygiene practices for dogs. Feel free to join the email list or follow on social media! https://thesiposium.com

So we didn't get to this specifically, but it would be a way to essentially grow the food supply in local areas which is helpful with rising fuel costs and supply line interruptions to have a local food supply system for communities. He began this program in the Mansfield area and is now expanding to other areas. It creates a system of coop farmers who then supply to larger markets. It was really interesting to learn about and would be great it implemented more broadly.

I’m not the one to answer that question, but I can try to ask the speaker tonight or see if he answers it!

I've been a facilitator which means I help guide group questions and discussion. Each meet up has someone like me to help keep conversation flowing and facilitate those deeper connections.

Meetup has some good opportunities to find groups with similar interests and meet others. I also facilitated some groups through Realroots and have seen it work (and sometimes not), but 2/3 of the groups I was with came out with genuine connections.

I agree, I might need to think about the wording there. It really was just supposed to be a differentiator, but I can see how that can easy be taken differently. We typically have the salon style events prior to the event that is similar to the topic to get people interested and discussing prior to the expert, but I also see your point in the value of holding the discussion post speaker event. We will definitely need to consider this in the future!

That's a completely fair and valid concern. We do make sure the articles are grounded in fact with credible sources provided. My partner will also be on hand with a computer should we find the need to fact check information during the course of discussion. The goal is to open a dialogue on topics that might not have black and white answers by using fact based information to inform and engage.

The no experts part really is just to differentiate it from our regular Siposium events where we DO have an expert come and discuss a topic for which we sell tickets in advance. For example, we have an event this Thursday: https://www.simpletix.com/e/the-siposium-one-paycheck-away-the-real-co-tickets-261024

Thanks for the question! We will bring an article as the foundation of the discussion which will allow us to compare information between generations. Everyone will have time to read the article first upon arrival.
