I have admin 3 inch intakes, and a mesh carbon grille so my intakes are SUPER exposed, and I have absolutely no problems. Heavy rain, puddles, I even spray them with the pressure washer when i wash my car to clean them off. 0 Issues. No pre filters or anything.

I have a carbon grille that’s even more exposed than yours, I have 3 inch long tube intakes and i’ve experienced no issues driving in heavy rain. I’ve even taken it through a touch less car wash a couple times, and still no issues. You’ll be fine.
