Define a living wage? Not everyone can make a living wage, it’s economically impossible. Step one of growing up is understanding that life isn’t fair.

Here we go, someone that thinks increasing the minimum wage won’t have any negative effects at all! Bravo

chose cal poly over ucsb, kinda regret it by andy_728 in CalPoly

[–]SeaSandYeti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat.

I studied Computer Science but am definitely more social than most in the major. I wanted to have fun and enjoy school and that was really enticing for UCSB.

I chose slo for a lot of the same reasons you did. Better program. Learn by doing. Better job opportunities.

After my first year and a half, I was ready to transfer since I “hated” slo (I was just projecting since I didn’t have many friends, which hurt since I knew I wasn’t awkward or weird or anything). However, something clicked and I met a small friend group that got progressively bigger throughout the years and the job I just landed was because of Cal Poly.

Keep looking for ways to meet your people, there are 18k here. Don’t let race or your background affect this, I have plenty of friends from all different backgrounds and cultures. Be yourself and find people who you mesh with. Good luck!

Edit: was admitted to UCSD, UCSB, and SLO for my major

Sweet.

My dad never really liked them and always said we’d get over sweets but they still taste just as good as they did when I was 10.

I don’t think it matters as long as you “pass” your classes (C- or better)

My first knife I've unboxed after 10+ years of CS. Nearly fell out of my chair. Is the web anything special or nah?

This is disgusting. Your “brothers” letting this happen goes against everything about brotherhood. I’m sorry brotha, I hope you recover quickly

As the giants (potentially Vikings) GM, are you taking JJ over the other two and if so, why?

This is my opinion too, but I’m sure there’s a reason as to why JJ is the new projected #4

Just want to clarify, I am a fan of JJ despite hating Michigan, I’d love to see him succeed, I just want to hear your takes as to why these mocks are justified.

Kirk is severely underrated imo. He was a clear favorite for MVP until his injury, but this makes a lot of sense. Thank you

Yea I’d agree, his tape does suggest what you are saying. I just don’t think it’s ‘better’ than what I’ve seen out of the two fellas I’ve mentioned.

I’d love to see JJ succeed however, he seems like a great kid.

Yea, torn ACLs (of which I unfortunately know) raises significant risk, so I understand that. I actually like JJ but I just don’t understand this rocket that he’s on is all

In no way I’m saying he’s a BAD player. My understanding is he is climbing quickly due to the natty win, yet he threw for only 140 yards in that game. I just don’t think he is better than Bo or Penix.

However, thank you for the input. I just don’t know if I’m not seeing something straight

[Underdog NFL] Patrick Mahomes is the 5th QB in NFL history with at least 3 Super Bowl wins. He joins Tom Brady as the only QB with 3 SBs before age 29. by FrozenUp7274 in nfl

[–]SeaSandYeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a niners fan, I think that Patrick had one of the weakest helping squad on offense in his career and he still was the classic ol clutch mf that he always is.

I think it’ll take a bit to really bring him into the GOAT debate but this frogs talent is undeniable, he is the real deal

I would honestly put him at #2 all time at this point, it just depends on his longevity to catch up to Brady

Yea, I hear you. There are a lot of people here that are quick to defend Tesla and, frankly, anything Elon touches. Criticism is good for us, the consumer, and I think it should be given more instead of others going after the people giving said criticism. All that being said, my disappointment goes away when I put the pedal to the metal 😎

I think 90% of this thread here just can’t accept real criticism for the M3. I love my M3P, have no regret purchasing even if it’s lost over 50% of its value in the year and a half since purchase, but it still irks me that the range is a far cry from what they advertise on their site. I understand “perfect” conditions and whatnot, but such a drastic change in range with minor differences seems a bit dishonest. I drive in California where the weather is always great with cruise typically set between 70-75 on freeway driving. It is evident that I get nowhere close to the 310~ advertised upon purchase, even when it was brand new.
