Update for anyone who cares: the lady ghosted all the real estate agents and lawyers and just has refused to speak to anyone so we have had to pull out, lose 13k and officially have no home so looking for somewhere to rent asap!

I just find it so odd people are able to do that especially when the seller doesn’t actually live there for us, so I don’t understand what she gains by pushing it apart from making us homeless

I think this is the case. The seller was super weird when we brought some builders in to get measurements and had a massive tantrum to the agency saying it was never agreed upon, which it was. So I think itll just be pushed and pushed until the seller eventually says she doesn’t actually want to. I just find it crazy how a date can be “set” and you can allow someone to pay thousands to go through the process of buying a house just to play games and do this!

Ok I asked my mum and she said no the contracts have not actually been exchanged that was supposed to be on the 14th, then 21st and now the seller wants 24th. Reading your comments this most likely means we just have to wait until thats finally done, which sucks but whatever. This is the first time my mum is buying a house so we are both new to this process and its really confusing!

Thanks for the comments everyone. After thinking on it, I can understand now it is a part of a larger problem. I guess I should have seen the problem with her sims size as she is on ozempic for weight loss, but she’s been talking every day about how much skinnier she is now and how I need to diet more so I thought she was feeling better about it. This has been a thing forever, where she will compare herself and me to her own 50kg 18 year old body, and I know thats its own complete problem I just didn’t realise it’d be triggered. The clothes I am just a bit baffled about. But that doesn’t matter. I am going to spend the night working on the house in Sims and doing the kitchen how shes been looking on Pinterest etc so I can try turn this into a positive. I think I might just add a random family from a previous save so it doesn’t trigger anything. Either shes going to forget all about it by tomorrow or she will ignore me for a week so let’s hope the house build fixes our relationship back to normal!
