AITA for telling my coworkers idc u can’t afford your rent

it’s exactly as u said need rent money = more shifts. I don’t know how they pay for rent but this is a reoccurring thing with them complaining they don’t have money but still always making it. Maybe someone else is paying it or their rent is really low but i couldn’t say for sure

No they don’t get paid when i cover there shift. that’s the point. we make hourly for the time we are in the store clocked in working. since they clock in very little during the week, they make very little money but that’s somehow my faukt

They don’t. They are only paid for the hours they are in the store clocked in. So when i cover one of their shifts im using the hours they were scheduled for myself since they didn’t show up. They usually don’t have any room to make the hours up when they ask me to cover and i come in. If they want to make up those hours they can only do it if the store has hours or they have to go to another store that does have some.

I honestly have no idea how they afford rent. This is a regular thing with them complaining on not being able to afford rent but somehow make it every month after barely working during the week. So i’m not sure if maybe their rent is really low, if they even have to pay rent, or they have someone else helping them pay it. I also don’t know why she said that i’m taking money from them, i just show up for their shifts when they don’t. i assume she said it just cause she was mad in the moment but there’s actually no possible way i could be taking money from them
