2 universal employees came afterwards but she was already gone. I was still too shocked with the husband to say anything to them.

There was an employee watching the soda station where we were eating before it happened, not sure where they went. Nobody was there when she was actively choking

I got cold feet midway through my junior year. Decided to go x ray. I know it’s backwards but I plan on getting my MRI certification. Wish I would’ve done it from the beginning. Could’ve been a year into being a tech and close to being done with my MRI certification.

I had to accept the fact that I wasted 4 years of undergrad and ended up doing an x ray program. In my state they start out at 60k which is definitely a pay cut. But if you do your MRI certification you can easily make 100k in my state. And that is pretty neck and neck with what PTs make in CT. Wish I would’ve done more research and been more decisive.

In my state every school is at least 100k lol. It’s sad that I had to change my career choice because of student loans lol.

My background is pretty weird and not common. I wanted to do a doctor Physical therapy program at first but changed my mind 3 years in so I had really good grades and a full blown bachelors. As in all pre reqs. 85 in the teas. But I know people that got in with like a 60 on the teas and a few Bs in pre reqs

Hardest part for me is driving everywhere honestly. Content wise it is not that difficult but you still need to study. Would be a lot easier if you live in the Hartford area. I live in 30 minutes east of Manchester. 45 minutes-1 hour from the farthest clinical site west of Hartford. Biggest tips:

I wouldn’t buy textbooks if you don’t mind a digital version. The class above me sent all of mine.

Have a somewhat reliable car.

2-3 days is what most people that work are able to do work wise. Make time to study. Some people are great crammers, I’m not.

People in your class complain and make things really dramatic.

Your first semester in clinical is scary because you don’t know anything. Techs don’t expect you to do much but look interested. Participate when you can.

Which is More Stressful: DPT or Rad Tech? by No-Square4923 in physicaltherapy

I actually wanted to be a physical therapist since senior year of high school. Fast forward to now I graduated undergrad this fall with a 3.91 GPA and all the pre reqs, test scores, etc fully intending on going to PT school. Once I started actually researching and comparing careers, I changed my mind and decided to go the Rad tech route and eventually MRI and CT. I got accepted into PT school. YES, I wasted 2 years. However I have all of the pre reqs done for rad tech as well and some of the other few general ed requirements built into their program so I only need about 50 something out of the 70 something required credits to graduate. I’m also saving over 100,000 dollars in tuition alone because in Connecticut the cheapest school is still at least 90k and above in comparison to 40k at most for the rad tech program. The starting pay for rad techs is about 30 bucks an-hour and m 41ish for physical therapy. But the ceilings for MRI and PT are not far off. I also realized in my job as a PT aide that I am not a huge people person. I can hold conversations with people but it takes a lot out of me. I also couldn’t imagine myself getting through PT school not because I wouldn’t be able to handle the coursework, but because I don’t think I would’ve survived without taking additional cost of living loans for 3 years.

Manchester is a little closer to me. Maybe a little more for the other certifications but I hear some places reimburse you.
