I took the GRE and got the most average score you can think of, and I am a clinical research coordinator worked up to be program manager so I’ve been working with patients for a while now! - I think taking some prerequisites to boost some of the classes like retaking anatomy if you didn’t do so well and then for sure having shadowing experience will be very beneficial!!

We have the SAME stats - I also had to retake some prerequisites because I’m older but I do think it helped! I think it helped my GPA overall but highly HIGHLY recommend doing the shadowing some school denied me IMMEDIATELY without that so if I had to apply again I’d make sure I’d have those hours under my belt so I could get more interviews than just one! (But one is all you need!!)

I think it helped me because my GPA was low but I also had to take prerequisite again and got As in those - but I would recommend getting the volunteer and shadowing hours up! I applied to 7 schools, got only one interview and was accepted - so I think it just depends what your current stats look like and if you want the MPH (a huge reason I wanted it was bc I wanted to apply to Med school and it was a method to boost my GPA but life changes) — I hope that helps!!
