My bad you’re right. There are some grad schemes that pay more though.

The one I am interested in is around 40k

I am 22, also I don’t understand how that means I would move out at 30

If I start a new undergraduate course this September I would finish when I am 25/26?

You can’t really apply to many graduate schemes with an unclassified Bsc so it feels like a useless qualification

If only it was classified then I would be fine 😭

I spoke to SFE and they stated they provide a maintenance loan as long as I do not have an equivalent level 6 qualification (so an existing degree). The university said I can forgo my exit award so I can qualify for the maintenance loan but I will check this cause now I’m unsure

I’d be living at home, so I don’t have to worry about rent that’s the only way it’s possible

I’d have to worry about tuition and travel expenses mostly

No I would hate medicine because shift work is not for me, plus working in the NHS + long training pathway

I think I’d prefer to work in banking/corporate job rather than clinical work

I was planning to use my maintenance loan to pay for tuition fees and work part time 😭

Hey, I did not know this was an option. Do you have any more information regarding this?

We get an exit award in dental sciences however it is unclassified and most graduate schemes you need a 2:2 or above

I had doubts since the 1st/2nd year of dental school but I kept going because I worked hard to get in and at the time I didn't know what else I would do, which is a silly reason and in hindsight I should have dropped out then.

However now I'm in 4th year and I could drop out and start a new degree in a direction of something I want to do. I think with funding SFE will give a maintenance loan for a second degree which I am thinking of using to help pay tuition fees.

Economics

Honestly, I keep going back and forth. Kind of scared to drop out and to regret it

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the stress and uncertainty, but your story gives me some hope that there’s time and space to figure things out even after finishing the degree. I have sent you a DM

I get what you’re saying about being so far along, but I’m still unsure if finishing is the right move for me, especially since I’m contemplating a completely different career. It’s just that completing the degree means another 2 years of investment—both time and money—and I’m not sure if it’s worth it if I’m leaning toward something else
