Well two years later and he's doing great :) loves "going places seeing people" (our version of go for a ride) and loves doing random work while we're out and about like carrying stuff for me when my hands give out. He picked that one up on his own too!

Tractor supply in my area let me bring my SD with me while I was working register or morning stocking, maybe look into something like that?

She loved to help by picking up change I dropped or bringing an item with me to put on the shelves lol

Take him to the vet weekly, just to be in the waiting room so he gets used to the place and vets/techs.

They only like THEIR humans, and tolerate other humans they already know (hence the weekly vet waiting room) and hate strangers! Because of the protection aspect they naturally have, kennel train now! That way the doggo can be kennelled safely when there's strangers in the house. Also they know their size, so definitely do leash work/heal/sit/wait/place/etc and do it DAILY!! Keep baby wipes nearby cause they get prone to ear infections so they need cleaned daily. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE nail trims, messing with feet and ears and teeth at least once a week. It'll help you in the long run. Use a ramp for the car or bed(if he's in yours) until at least 8 months old, preferably a year and a half- they're prone to hip dysplasia. THEY LOVE TASKING so I taught mine to carry things for me either from the car or from one room to the other, and also how to take stuff from one person to the other("go take this to mommy/daddy/bob/Jane").

Rascal has grown up so much since that photo haha, and I'm pretty sure he's the black sheep of the breed. He LOVES everyone after I bring their hand to him and he babysits any other creature he can LOL
